~ looking for dust-free brake pads... any popular/recommended suppliers?
looking to switch out the dusty stock brake pads (front & rear) on my 328xi f31 wagon. i assume the f30 328 cars have the same pads?
i have used rotex gold and akebono euro pads on prior bmw's with great success. any personal recommendations & part numbers would be appreciated... i prefer not to clean my wheels after each drive and am need of a ceramic low dust pad. tia!

Interested in this too. Just spent 2 hours cleaning my wheels. They were literally black from all the dust.
I've also heard that the dust is a by-product of higher performing brakes and that "dust-less" brakes are not as good in the perf department. Could be wrong. |

OP - curious how many miles you have on your car? Do you have the performance brake option? I have an F31 328d with about 3k miles and i'm shocked at how little dust there is. Just replaced the pads on my S5 this weekend (which dusts like mad) with akebono and am really happy with them so far.

akebono euro pads +1
And . . . they don't squeak! BMW told me squealing pads are normal. I replied "If this was an Acura or a Lexus would I be hearing such nonsense?" No reply. Thank God some has their sh*t together at Akebono or we'd have no choice but to suffer through squealing brake pads. |

I loved Hawk Performance Ceramic on my 08 335i. I see they now have them for the F30. Very good linera initial bit and excellent braking. Very low dust. I installed them with Hawk Quiet Slot rotors and was very happy.

~ ok i found additional information on the 'dust-free' akebono (euro ceramic) with part numbers for the f30 & f31 ~ 320/328/428(xi or i) cars:
eur 1561a (fronts) - includes electronic wear sensor eur 1613 (rears) ~ on order: butch at the tire rack is assisting with the order and drop shipping from akebono (stay tuned)... to all: i have used these pads on several cars in the past with great success (dust-free, no noise and twice the pad life of oem pads). Manufacture Info: European car owners across North America now have a brake pad solution that will keep their wheels virtually free from dust and provide the European stopping power they expect. The use of highly advanced ceramic brake pad technology allows Akebono’s “EURO” pad line to provide excellent stopping power while extending rotor life and virtually eliminating brake dust. http://www.akebonobrakes.com/afterma...uro/index.html
