I was going to ask the same question but didnt want to steal his thunder lol. I am curious because i first noticed the oddly low/unstable MAF readings on Ozy's Dinan intake which was later confirmed by other person independently in the Dinan intake thread with more logs. So i am curious if the CTS design fixes this issue as their website claims. I'm happy to do a detailed analysis like i did with the MST v2 inlet . Will see how this plays out.

You guys are good, I'm sure you're both in better potions to do the logs (especially with so many posted before)
I appreciate it Mike, but you guys are more deserving. My popcorn is ready

Best part is, i actually have the Dinan intake sitting on my shelf as well, so this can truly be a back to back comprehensive test of different intakes on the same car. Ozy shipped me his Dinan intake after it was giving him issues, i just havent had a reason to test it yet. So i have logs with stock inlet stock intake, MST inlet stock intake, MST inlet MPPK mod intake... Now i could do MST inlet Dinan intake, and MST inlet CTS turbo intake. An analysis similar to the one here can be done: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=173 |

I wonder if it’s the filter design and not so much the air pipe design that’s causing the turbulence. It would be interesting to see if it’s possible to run the intake with the stock panel filter or no filter at all to debunk my theory 😂.

Let me know then...
I am fairly confident its the MAF housing. If i get it i will test different configurations that are possible but i'm not running without a filter lol |

Honestly, this is the main reason I passed. I'm just not equipped to do any testing right now unfortunately. I hate being the guy on the sidelines, but I just have a lot going on.

All yours man, forgot the prices was in USD, and the way CAD is going, it's a bit too much at the moment.

Then most, if not all, CAI's out on the market would cause erratic MAF readings because it looks like they have round air tubes all the way through.

I ordered it... for science. Really had no interest in running an intake lol. But i am already making a list of things i can going to do to compare current setup (mppk box) with dinan and with CTS. |

subbed for interest. I have been running the CTS intake for a few years now - but I have been reading more and more about people going back to the stock intake with drop in. Interested to see some comparisons.

So far the main things i am going to test are: - cold start - WGDC - MAF (stability and magnitude of readings) - IATs (difficult to quantify due to atmospheric changes and other variables but i have some ideas) - throttle response and drivability impressions - noise Let me know if any other ideas. |
