Electric Patio Heaters

Anyone bought an electric patio heater that’s any good? Don’t want gas, not necessarily for environmental reasons, just the faff of changing bottles.

Been looking at a couple on here, but not sure what kind of heat they really put out.

I could ask if you were allowed to travel to your back garden but that would make me look like a cunt

My local pub has electric patio heaters in the covered area and they actually work pretty well. No idea of the wattage but i'd imagine perhaps 2kW+ would be needed to be effective

On a more serious note, I know someone who has some heaters so will ask what they have.

Number of posts isn’t really pertinent when considering foul language is unacceptable, surely. No laying down the law either, just good manners. Hope he doesn’t kiss his mother with that mouth.

If we could get over the cunt, I’m sure we’ve all heard it before and feigning offence is a little wasted. If we could move onto patio heater experiences that would be great.

My general experience of outdoor heaters, mostly gained from bars in northern Europe, is that if you sit too close they're uncomfortably hot, and if you move away they might as well not be there.

In the interests of saving the planet, I'd said wear a hat and coat or stay indoors.

It’s ok, if I go out and use a heater, I’ll turn off the heating inside to compensate a little. I’ll turn the lights off too.

Thinking of these together.......although heater first before the gazebo gets built.

Nice gazebo but I'm struggling to see how the two go together. With the benefit of a roof you could get away with something like a tent heater couldn't you?

There’s a timing issue. Wife wants a heater for now outside on the decking, but the gazebo will take a few weeks to sort if we do it.

Fixed it. It is one below, fits through umbrella hole in outside table.

It was 210cm high to the top and you had to stand up to feel it. Took out middle section and now it’s 150cm high and heats you nicely when sat down.

Ah, clever stuff. Best get some friends round quick before you join South Yorks in Tier 3!

Let us know how the gazebo shopping goes. I saw a nice one the other day but I thought the £25k price tag was a bit on the strong side.

That's not a gazebo, it's a waste of a very nice car port.
