Agree with Chris on the Clarkson Robin Reliant episode, brilliant comedy.
Watched it on catch up and skipped most of it. Watching 3 of them water-skiing was pointless and the entire hire car thing was rubbish. Ah well.

McGuinness is a total moron, never liked him. What’s with all the pre-watershed swearing too, totally unnecessary.

It just all seemed so pointless....or maybe that’s my 41 years looking at things differently now? It wasn’t particularly funny skiiing down a sloap, that was done with May and a rally car many years ago! Plus I think they did something with the Olympics with a Volvo XC90 iirc.

Didn't find yesterday's episode funny at all. Someone must think it's funny watching other people's cars being crashed and abused.

Not bothered about battered hire cars being wrecked, that probably weren’t hire cars at all. I imagine they were just set up by the production team, along with the actors on the hire desk and at the end.

More bothered by how mind numbingly boring and repetitive it all was.

The problem is it’s all probably a riot when you’re filming it, just not when it’s viewed.

Through all the predictable, puerile nonsense they manage to pull off the kind of thing we really want to see, maybe once a season. Last night it was the Sir Sterling Moss segment. A true legend.

Makes you wonder what kind of programme they could have if they aspired to that level all the time.

I thought exactly the same, and thank god it was delivered by CH instead of one of the two Ronnies.

That's an insult to the Two Ronnie's.

Or the Chuckle Brothers.

The Moss section was the saving grace for yesterdays episode. I cannot help but think Top Gear has run its course in it's current format and it is now time for a major change.

The Stirling Moss section was a touching tribute to a great man, and when Harris said he was truly humbled to be able to drive his car you could see he really meant it. As for the rest of the show well, two guys who's only qualification seems to be that they could afford fast cars, constantly belittling someone who has lived and breathed cars for years is just tiresome.

The moss part was good but it just underlined the need for perhaps two separate shows? There seems to be a market for a genuine car show for enthusiasts and the panto that is top gear?

I'd be so happy to see Harris, Henry catchpole, and Alex from car throttle or joe Achilles get a show together, it would be great and no need for gimmicks.

Also the "British" GT episode featured not a single true GT car????? Even Harris picked the wrong (but obvious) Bentley!

I'd live to see a proper car show, but I suspect the audience is just not that big, is in decline, and not really on message about the environment and the future of autonomous cars. So it's just enjoying these guys on you tube as we do currently

A lot on here may not like them but viewing figures for last series were significantly higher than previous series and apparently much improved amongst younger viewers which is what brought the switch to BBC1

We do need to remember that entertainment is more important than cars to a wider section of society.... idiots that they are

Haha, you're right
As a committed grumpy old man, I have an aversion to chumsy, laddish and brash presenters churning out formulaic nonsense so the current dumbed down TG isn't my cup of tea. I understand the Beeb's strategy however and can see why it's working.
There's so much good stuff on YT these days - Chris Harris, Savagegeese, Carfection, Harry's garage etc - that it's no loss, to be honest.

Watches the latest one this morning...really enjoyed it. Even Mrs JustChris liked the guys strapped on top of a car. (Was Paddy's seat really just stuck on with sea suckers?)

Tiff Needell's new show may fill that gap

Typing this as watching the ice cream section.

10 year old son enjoying it.

I fear this has hit an all time low. And language seems choice for pre watershed!

What an utter shower. Within 5 mins they said dick, it’s ridiculous how then get away with the language. I really hope this doesn’t get the go ahead for another series.
