Can anyone explain what is the purpose of this FCP Euro kit?

The kit says

This basic bolt-on kit allows you to add the strut tower reinforcement plates from the F8X M3/M4 to your F2X 2-series or F3X 3-series. This kit is ideal for anybody who is running upgraded suspension and wheel/tire packages where additional road force is being transferred to the strut towers. While the F2X/.F3X strut towers are robust with factory suspension parts that may not be the case with suspension setups that are running higher spring rates with less suspension travel or firmer lower profile performance tires. BMW engineers saw the need to add strut tower reinforcements to the F8X M3 and M4 for this very reason.

but I think the reason for this reinforcement mount is for the F8X strut brace, not for any reason related to lowering springs. Thoughts?
