Not sure about $ however in the Uk springs alone cost £222 (this included a forum discount) and the fitting at a bmw main dealer was £372 inc vat at 20% and this included the kds wheel alignment and 4 new bolts apparently required also. Hope that helps.

Looks great with the ACS springs. I have a base suspension on my F30 and I'm thinking about fitting the ACS springs on my car. How's the ride quality with the new springs compare to the OEM suspension? Does it eliminate some of the body-rolls that came with stock set up? Thanks

Swift made excellent sport springs that are linear rate, don't bottom out and won't sag for the E9x M and non-M and also the E82 135i. They should have something soon.

That's nice almost like mine but I still need lowering springs. Will h&r sports give that exact drop on yours? What's the difference, 1.3" drop? Also what wheels are those, anyone? I got the 442m in 19 on mine and added 20m spacers on the rear. But I like his wheels tho. Thanks. |

Skip the springs. I did this during Covid 2020. I went with Eibach's pro kit. Car was a tipped forward and felt nose heavy. I then mixed it with the sport kit spring in the rear - to level the car.
But the car ended up being too floaty with the adaptive shocks - even in sport mode (stiffer rebound) and Dinan Shockware. I drive pretty hard - think Miata, BRZ, E36 M3s... so I push my cars REALLY hard in the corners as my driving style. I ended up pulling the springs off - and the adaptive shocks... and went with the ST XA coil-over set-up. It had a spring rate of about 25% more than stock - so pretty firm, but not back breaking. As a coil-over you can adjust the height AND because it's adjustable, you also get rebound adjustment. This kit is directly comparable to the KW v2 - because it's made by... KW. The ONLY difference is the ST uses mild-steel body and the KW stainless steel. If you like in a non-salt/mild winter state like CA (AZ, NM, NV)... mild-steel is fine. Set runs about $1400-ish shipped. Highly suggest Xtreme Power House out of Las Vegas. No sales tax, free shipping which makes it cheaper than ordering from ST out of CA. Review here if you want to read up on them... https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1699443 Since you are in NY, suggest the KW v2 for the stainless components for your winters and salt. They run around $1800+ ish, but you'll get the drop and ride you want.

I have the ACS springs and they are good. Better roll control and not too harsh. Be forewarned though that pairing dampers with these springs is a real challenge. ACS used to have a custom set of Bilsteins that worked well but that seems to have been discontinued. OE or Bilstein B4/B6 are likely fine but I suspect not as good as ACS’s customized Bilsteins. Remember you need to cut or replace the bumpstops as well.

Lowering springs do not address all suspension tuning goals. If there is a need to tune suspension behavior, including changing the suspension height again or improving compression/ rebound response, coilovers will be a better option. It’s always helpful to reconfirm suspension tuning goals first. |
