can you please tell me which Fuse was burned? I have the same issue. Afer installing the box, the Display stayed black... The MMI Box is loading my Smartphone, so i think it is connected correctly. A Reset of the iDrive (pushing Volume on/off for about 60 seconds) didn't work. Do you have any others advices what to do? Thanks in advance :-) |

Shame on me...
I have checked all fuses. They were all ok. The Quadlock was not right connected. I reconnected it and now it works like a charm. I'm happy jacobtc I have a BMW F20 LCI from 08/2015 with harman kardon speakers (NBT Evo headunit). It's a little bit tight under the head unit, but there is definitly enough space for the box and all the cables. |

A bit late, but finally did the update to v2.0.2.6 including MCU last weekend.
I noticed they fixed the following two things: 1) No more ghost inputs after switching back to iDrive 2) PDC screen is working properly even when in Drive-mode Now only the Android Auto DPI needs to be fixed somehow... still trying to reverse-engineer everything and if I have time on the coming weekend, I will disassemble my unit and have a look inside. |

That's a normal NBT in your picture, not an NBT EVO. For EVO, the box fits perfectly under the HU (source: I have one myself)

I love it and recommend it. I use Android Auto everyday. The only issue that I have had is the echo that the other person hears when on a phone call. But that isn't limited to this mmi. It also occurs on other aftermarket and even OEM headunits on many cars. So who knows the root cause. |

Now that I will be installing the box in between the headunit and my glovebox, I want to know whether the placement of the wifi antenna is important? Also, is it possible to have the USB run into the glovebox? I will be using Wireless Android Auto, so the usage of the usb cable will only be when updating the box.

Hi Firefly1337
While i was doing some research on the codebase from my own extraction i fell opon this thread and i can see you are looking into the same issues as my self... The Android Auto resolution. I have read the whole thread to gather an overview of your research and i think i can give some more hints. I own the Bimmertech MMi Prime and not the Andream unit. But anyways i think they are the same unit, only different whitelabeling. Now i can see you are asking for pictures of internals. I will post some from of my Bimmertech unit. If you can post some of yours then we can quickly determine if it's the same units or not. I found the same references to the DPi settings as you and i am pretty sure this issue is that. I also found that it has referenceses to the SunPlus SPHE8388 microcontroller. I also found referenceses to Telnet in the firmware. I have tried to establish connection without sucess unfortunately. It also containn an passwd file with the user root and a blank password. That's it for now. I hope we can solve the puzzle soon. Sorry for my bad english Cheers |

Unfortuneately i have not been able to recive any firmware updates from Bimmertech. They are not very likely to hand these out. I have extracted the firmware available from indiwork's website. Regarding indiwork. The password for the rar archive containing the firmware is 7950 |

I have tried to get from Bimmertech Support multiple times without luck. I would really like to have the .bin file from Bimmertech. If we can't get we could always dump the firmware directly from flash. Just a pain in the a** to do |

But as a paying customer, there should be no reason for Bimmertech to be holding back firmware updates from you or any others that purchased there MMI. EDIT: Found the thread, I didn't imagine it, clearly they have sent updates to some users: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1678458 |

Andream MMI Box - Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto
AnonymousUser Thanks for the info on the bimmertech unit. Do the settings screens on your mmi look the same as the second post on this thread?
Are you on the same version numbers as we have for the Andream box? cossie1 I had the black screen happen today, about 5 mins into a drive with google maps on display and BMW radio playing as source. Came back on shortly after and google maps was still running. Pressed the menu button and saw the boot screen on the head unit so I think that rebooting caused the black screen. Both were stable after that for the remaining 30mins of the drive. |
