Tune Recommendations?
Hello, I'm relatively new to the forum but have been reading reading everything I can to help me enjoy my 1st BMW (2015 BMW 335XI w/MPPK & MPE). I just ordered a new Active Autowerke Charge Pipe & Intercooler and an Evolution Raceworks catted downpipe, with the thoughts of getting a stage 2 (93 octane) tune. I'm looking for recommendations, been looking at BootMod3 & Active Autowerke flash tunes, and am hoping to hear some real world experience with either of them (actual HP/TQ gains) or other options if there is better. I'm looking to really wake the car up but also not lose too much reliability (yes, I am pretty diligent about the maintenance on my vehicles). Thanks guys, appreciate any and all input!

Literally 1000s of pages on MHD and BM3, although less information on AA.
Let me sum it up very simply: BM3 is a bit more aggressive in terms of pushing hardware than MHD, so in theory it makes a little more power. I'm in no way saying it's dangerous BTW. MHD is slightly more conservative and retains more OEM-like behavior in that it is a load-based tune and controls DME parameters and implements protective measures using the same methods as OEM with the same thresholds. Neither should compromise reliability on a well maintained car with supporting mods. The main other consideration is if you plan to upgrade the HPFP BM3 has a OTS map for that but MHD currently does not. With either tune you pick, be prepared to datalog. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1732327 You can't really go wrong with either. I won't speak to AA since its very rarely used but can be a viable option. AFAIK AA does not provide logging capabilities and I am not sure if you can even flash it yourself. |

I am currently running Bm3 on my n55. I have personally had a great experience with the ease of use, the maps available, and the bump in performance. Do recommend.

Bootmod3 is the most popular. Its user-friendly with lots of features, strong but reliable OTS maps

"Most user-friendly" is subjective. This thread is just going to spiral into a MHD vs BM3 thread as with any tune recommendations thread with such claims. MHD is arguably easier to use with its android/app based platform and going based on forums more people have issues flashing BM3 than MHD. Again not saying there's any problem with BM3. OP needs to just do his research and pick one, or come back with targeted questions about either, rather than just asking people for their opinion.
