New Bilstein B12 Pro Suspension

Hey guys,

Bear with me, I'm not a very car savvy person. I recently had the Bilstein B12 Pro kit installed on my 2013 BMW 328i xDrive, but the shop I had install it is saying the kit didn't come with shock absorbers. Am I wrong in thinking this was a complete kit? Do I need to make any additional purchases?

The ride is a bit bumpy and stiff, but definitely still better than it was with the stock suspension.

Here's a link to the exact kit: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...93#description

Any help is appreciated!

What the h*ll is the shop talking about?

Under Product Description
Bilstein B12 (Pro-Kit) suspension kits include a complete set of Bilstein Performance dampers paired with Eibach (Pro-Kit) springs

It definitely comes with dampers aka 'shock absorbers'. What does it say on your order form and what did you pay for this 'B12 kit'? Did you replace BMW's dampers, which are black? If yes, you should see the yellow dampers that come with this kit.

I would find a new shop ASAP.

As mentioned, you should be able to look in the wheel well behind the tires/wheels and see the new yellow dampers installed.

Kinda like mine (which are Konis, but same thing for illustration purposes)

Perplexing response from the shop performing the installation.

Did you order the B12 Pro kit yourself and then asked this shop to install it?

I had paid about $1079 plus tax, I'll check behind the wheels today to make sure everything is there from the new kit. Just to be sure. Otherwise I don't know what other parts the shop would be talking about.

Yep, that's exactly it. I wanted something other than the stock suspension and it was cheaper to buy it myself.

You had us all scared half to death that you got ripped off. Looks good, nice choice. Maybe the shop was referring to it not coming with new mounts... since they had to reuse the factory mounts during install.

Sorry about that! I was scared I got ripped off too, to be fair lol. I'll reach out to the shop again for some clarification. I have a couple of times and they kinda just keep saying the same thing. But thanks for the help everyone, I appreciate it!

Maybe they were talking about bump stops (aka "additional or auxilliary shock absorber")? Aren't they internal for Bilsteins?
