Ah its actually less obvious than that.
I had them changed from Chrome --> Black a while back.

I wont bore anyone but I've finally had the rock guards fitted to my car. I went through a number of arguments with a few dealers and went from having to pay £1500 for just the new radiator and labour to paying £0.00 for the new radiator and now the rock guards are in stock I've got them fitted. Not very many cars have these rock guards and even less of this age!

Nice, got a new radiator as well recently due to a pre-existing damage that they owned up to. Insisted on rock guards and they put them in too.

I wouldnt mind the rock guards on mine, but cba with it unless the car goes in for any other warranty work.

Just to add to this. I noticed that my recently delivered 340i has the rock guards fitted as standard. Looks like they got bored fitting new radiators
