Wheel Similar to Avant Garde M355 that fits on F30?

I really like this style/look, but they are too aggressive for our F30's, does a wheel exist that fits properly in this style?

Yes. There are several guys here that run 19" M5 reps. They are not of the same quality as the AG's as they are a gravity cast and not a pressurized cast. But, as you stated, the AG's are probably too aggressive.

These are my M5 reps with machine polished face and gunmetal barrels.

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=802633

These are 19x8.5" ET35 fronts & 19x9.5" ET38 rears. My tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports- 245/35/19 fronts & 275/30/19 rears. My car is not lowered.

Lukeb817 runs the exact same wheels, but different width tires. 225mm fronts and 255 rears. I believe they are Hankooks. But as you can see, he's lowered his car on H&R Sport springs and probably wants to pull the sidewalls in.

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=757544

Gerbs runs my exact set-up. Or I should say, I run his exact same set-up, except he has the black barrels instead of the more popular gunmetal.

I think we all bought them at Mod bargains.com. They are not advertised on the website for some legal reason, but I think they can help you.

^ is anyone running the 245/35/19 fronts & 275/30/19 rears have X drive?

I am looking to go with the same setup, just want to make sure it will work with the X drive system

Thanks

You should have even more room with the xdrive as it sits 10mm higher. I would get a taller tire to fill in that gap as the lowering options are limited on the xdrive right now.

That is one of the reasons I went non xdrive....just going to get some nice winter tires for the snow season.

I like these alot, I'm not very wheel-savvy, so I guess my question is, what is the con's of buying these mod bargain ones? Are they cheaper quality that you can tell? Easily bend? It's obviously worth the cost if many of u bought them, but what's the issue with them?

Great price, I'm guessing because they are crappy quality? Anyone have these?

The offsets are only ET20. They won't fit.

Nice price, though. But, I'd prefer to buy from a trusted source.

I'm not an expert, either. The difference (as I understand it) is my M5 reps are a gravity cast. The AG's are manufactured with a low-pressure cast, which means they can be lighter. The AG's are a bit more expensive.

But, I think these wheels are pretty popular here. I'd think you'll be happy with them, especially since they don't cost as much as a set of Morr's or HRE's. Although, I'd think the AG's are a more desirable, high-quality wheel. But, the point is moot, they are too aggressive for my set-up.

You are referring to the ********** ones correct?

Any issues u have with them? Is their finish quality good? I don't wan to buy wheels that will degrade/look like crap in 3-4 years because of a cheap finish

I've only had them for 2 months, but I'm happy with the finish. Honestly, I can't speak for how they will age. But, if there was an quality issue, I would think you'd hear about it here.

Didn't Lukeb817 bend his M5 reps on a pot hole? I could've sworn I read that some where.

So I keep running into a ton of these comments about the Avant Garde M355 being too aggressive. What exactly does that mean? Too wide? Too much offset?

Im in the market for a set of 19 in rims, and Im heavily favoring the M5 look. I dont exactly wanna go with the cheap $800 replicas, and the AG M355 arent too pricey, but can someone help me understand the issue with them being too aggressive. Thanks

"Aggressive" in this case means the offset will force the wheel to stick out too far. You will have the tire rub/hit the fender/quarter panel. It shouldn't be a problem if you don't plan to lower it, but it'd look pretty stupid.

Im not sure exactly what I want to do as for lowering it. I have the M adaptive suspension and I know lowering it using just springs is not the proper way to do it.

So does AG make a different offset that is not as aggressive or is it just one the 38 ET? I have heard of them shaving down the wheels atound 3mm as well, not sure how I should approach this.

I was the first to purchase the M5 reps and had no problems. I went with Mod bargains because they check quality of the rims before selling them and a med sized company. Also, I was afraid the reps that came back unsatisfactory are the ones sold on eBay for cheaper. I was all about the low pressure cast but they didn't come in black. Work out just fine for me. No issues with the no name brand and had them since July.

I am trying the M5 reps in black w/machine face on my soon to be delivered 335 M-Sport. I can let you know how they fit. The backs are 19x10 et38. Tirerack told me that they would fit on the stock suspension without rub........we'll see.

Car hits Baltimore tomorrow so I hope to get it by the following week.
