Just had my notice through that I need to get the car in for the EGR to be repaired or whatever under the recall.

Now I'm not the biggest fan of my dealership and my car is remapped so I don't really want them to wipe off my map... again. So as much as I think it would be unwise to not get it done - do you think I have to?

Also does anyone actually know if they would reprogram the car etc or is it simply a mechanical fix?

it's simply a mechanical fix, it's not a concern at all if you aren't loosing coolant, if you loose coolant over a certain period then it might've already began to fail.


My dealership told me it's just an o-ring replacement, but other dealerships replace the entire egr with an updated unit, it seems like they don't know what they're talking about.
