2017 F31 335d questions
Ive recently picked up a 2017 335d. I actually had one (a 2016) a few years ago and have noted a few comparisons that id like to check.
My new car is quite well specced (pan roof, adaptive dampers, hud, icon headlights etc) but i cant seem to code the mirrors to fold on locking the car. Surely a 54k car came with motors in the mirrors, even if they werent switched on as part of a pack? Secondly, no matter how i set it up, the hk in the new car isnt as good as that on my old one. I appreciate that it isnt the best system but once set up properly, the old one sounded ok. It is just as loud but definitely seems to be missing something. Did they change it at all between 2016 and 2017? Any ideas on either? |

I had the same realisation. I was sat trying to find the switch to fold the mirrors and eventually googled it, only to find that a car which cost that much, doesn't come with folding mirrors as standard.
The next realisation came months later with the lack of folding seats as I was trying to squeeze a 6 man tent in the boot… |

If it doesn't have the button for folding the mirrors in located next to the mirror adjustment switch I think you're out of luck Busted.
If you do have that button the mirrors still won't fold in with one press of the key unless coded but will fold in if you keep the lock button pressed for a few seconds. |

Thanks guys....no button so no folding mirrors for me!
How easy is the retrofit? Sometimes the car is parked on the road so it would be handy to have. |

You'll need to source the mirrors, they were around 200 each on ebay but may be cheaper now. Also the dipping mirror window control panel, i think around 30 quid. Not sure if theres any changes on pre/post lci but there was some wiring involved and then coding.
I sourced the mirrors and Simon @ Bavarian Coding fitted and coded. |

If you already have memory seats then there are no wiring changes, just replace the mirrors and switch panel and then code the FEM. If you don't have memory seats then what I did in the E91 was to wire one or two pins from the passenger door loom into the FRM(footwell module). Then code the module. If I could get some folding mirrors at a decent price I'd definitely do the conversion as I also have memory seats so it'd just be a case of swapping out the mirrors+switch and coding.

Yeah they seem to have gone up a bit though still possible to get near that, I set up an alert and waited for the right quality/priced ones to come up.
Might be worth pinging Simon as he may be able to supply and fit for a half decent price? |
