Also, the 320d and 330i with 312mm and 330mm discs upfront share the same caliper specifications (can be used interchangeably) and use the same size of pads. How is that possible? Does it mean that most of the added brake disc size is just for added heat dissipation rather than larger surface area of contact for the brake pads?

BUMP! Just wanted to check if switching from 300mm rotor upfront to the 330mm with the correct calipers will require any coding of the abs system or brake bias settings?
