New to the F30 - Some Connected Drive Problems

Hello all,

I finally found the 335i I've been looking for. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and so far I'm really enjoying it.

Several issues have popped up with the connected drive system and electronics.

First, the front door speakers don't work. All the other speakers sound great. I have the HK system with the speaker in the dash.

Shortly after that, the Passenger Restraint System warning came on, which I've read up about and it seems it might be the passenger airbag mat sensor.

Last, the Connected Drive audio system was working fine and playing bluetooth ok, but yesterday it went to AUX input and now it will not play music via bluetooth. The bluetooth system makes wireless calls just fine, but will not acknowledge bluetooth for music.

After doing some searching around the forums and the internet I tried a few different things.

I checked all fuses associated with the speakers.
I tried disconnecting the negative battery lead for 10 mins.
I updated the software via USB to the latest version.
I let the car sit for a couple days.
Plugged in/out an AUX cord a few times.
And lastly I read on one forum where unbuckling and buckling the seatbelt while driving somehow works, so I tried that.

I know this is a lot of info, but at this point any direction you can point me would be helpful. The car still has 10k miles left on its CPO warranty, so I will be going to BMW about some of these issues as soon as the warranty transfer comes back.

Thanks

Nate

Car looks great. I hope your warranty come through soon. Be careful of what you read on line. Next you’ll be trying voo doo. to fix your car.

Should be covered under tour CPO warranty assuming you did not modify/code anything. If you did any coding, I'd suggest restoring the default settings before you take it in. Some dealer will void your warranty if the car has been modified, others will only void if they connect the mod with the reported problem, e.g., you lowered your car and you have problems with your shocks.

Thanks everyone!

I'm still waiting on the CPO warranty to come through. I sent it via certified mail so I could track it. They received it a week ago and I haven't heard anything yet.

The car is modified, but I can't take credit for anything, as I bought it the way it is. It has the MPPK as well as Dinan lowering springs and a Dinan Stage 2 tuner kit. The PO told me it has a resonator delete. It sounds awesome! - One of my favorite things about the car.

It had a very worn and cracked cowl trim which I have just replaced and the valve cover is leaking a little bit. Both issues I'm used to dealing with on my e46. I'll have BMW take a look at the valve cover. The PO didn't baby it quite as much as I plan to, but its still in good shape and I'm really loving it!

I'll wait for the warranty to come through and then make an appointment with BMW. Hopefully it wont be too much longer.
