Dex what I wanted it for are

1. In sport mode you use 8 gears
2. In sport mode.you get s1 s2 on combo. Well with this you get d1 d2 as well.

You need a laptop, an OBD-cable and the software for coding.
Then a friend connects over the internet with your laptop and controls the program, which then is coding your car.

So for example I have esys and my cable so someone could connect and code the gear box for me

I'm not very technically inclined with BMW coding. Will this mod allow me to see what gear I'm in during ALL drive modes? Will it shift into 8th gear in sport, sport+ mode?

My Car:
USA spec 2017 328d xDrive
factory sports auto trans
fully loaded, adaptative LED, Drivers assistance+, active cruise control w/S&G...

I just found this DIY on bmwesys for the Alpina B3 flash, but it states: "This Alpina TCU flash works for model years 3/07 till present N54 engine only" http://www.bmwesys.com/guides/E9x%20...ns%20Flash.pdf

Is this flash possible on a US spec F31 LCI N47T car?

Also: Does coasting/sailing feature still work after this flash?

First, your pdf for E series Alpina flash has nothing to do with F series flash.
2nd the F series flash is for 8HP70 and you have only 8HP45/50, so not compatible.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Is there any coding I can do on my car to SEE GEARS in any mode? That is basically the only thing I want to accomplish.

You could code the 2TB option. That will show you what gear you are in when driving with the gearbox in sportmode. It will give you faster shifts too.

Thanks Marvin, my car will come with 2TB from the factory (part of the ZJH M Sport Line pkg). I would love to see how my transmission behaves (gear change) in all drive modes.
