2018 f30 coding fails (bimmercode)

Hey guys, been looking on here for awhile and this is my first post . I recently picked up a 2018 320i Xdrive and bought a vgate and bimmercode for IOS. Most of the codes worked great, but a couple I haven't been able to get to work. I haven't went advanced yet, but may try that this weekend when I have time.

First code is, enabling foglights to work with parking lights. I like the look of the led foglights with the led drls. I activated it, yet it still won't work independent of the headlights being on.

Second, zoomed in back up camera. I don't have navigation and thought the zoomed in look may be helpful since the image is so tiny. After activating, nothing has changed.

I think that's it. Anyways, thanks for the help in advance and I'm excited to join the bimmer community! I've had 26 cars and this is my first BMW.

You said you haven't "went advanced" yet... Did you mean "expert mode". I believe that option needs to be done in expert mode, not in the basic menu.

Go to Front Electronic Module > EXPERT MODE > 3060 LceMaster > NSW_EIN_AUF_LDS_STL > Select "aktiv"

That should allow you to turn on fogs with the daytime running lights, but only when the light switch is in the parking light position. When the light switch is in auto, the low beams will turn on when the fogs are on.

Note: I have a 2014 with Xenon headlights, but I imagine the code is the same for newer models.

yes sorry, I mixed that up. Expert Mode I guess is what it's called. It shows the option in the basic menu, so I assumed that was enough, but I will give expert mode a try and see if that works. I want it to function with the parking lights, so that's perfect. Thanks!

This is possible but it will make you look like a complete cock, I'd suggest avoiding it.

Well indeed.

I see you're both foreigners so perhaps things are different over there. The only people who drive around with their front fogs on in the UK are 17/18 year old boys trying to make their 1.0litre cars stand out (yes, that was me a long time ago too). Occasionally you see someone a bit older doing it and it makes me cringe.

No different to the old Lexus lights, remember those? They looked so cool until someone brought out replicas for all the shitty 1.0litre cars and pretty soon Lexus dropped them.

I find it really amusing how quite a few people are trying to code their US cars to the EU look and vice versa. Life would be so dull if we were all the same.

Same as here. Moreover if running fog light for no reason, the police will stop you and give a really nice ticket.

Another code that didn't work for me is full brightness DRL with low beams. I've enabled it since it's a shortcut option for me on bimmercode but it didn't change anything. I can't find any settings under expert mode that seem to correlate either. Any suggestions?

Not only is hijacking someone's thread bad manners it also pretty much insures that you're not going to get an answer to your question. You should open your own thread.

It’s been awhile so I don’t fully remember! I’ll try...

-remover disclaimer for startup screen
-unlock doors with ignition off
- fold mirrors with comfort access closing
-sport auto transmission
- foglights on with high beams and with parking lights
-door handle leds in reverse
-enable sport+ mode

Couple more I can’t remember too!

Did you have to use Expert Mode for Sport+? I enabled that and it coded successfully but I still don't have it in the list when changing driving modes. "regular " sport mode has definitely changed behavior though. 🤔

There's two locations to make changes... not just TCU.

Check FEM.

I coded both of mine and mine doesn’t show sport+ when I change it to sport. When I select sport a second time, then it shows sport+. Not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be or not.

Yes, thats how it should be.

Push the rocker up once for SPORT

Push the rock up twice for SPORT+

Two different drive modes. One doesn't replace the other.
