Did you consider getting the M4 trunk too? It doenst quite fit 100% but it looks pretty good.

And yes, UCLA grad here! I wont hold being from SUC against you.

lolllll
I know M4 trunk is slightly carved in towards the middle and looks sportier but it won't be a simple swap----our F36 trunk is a big one piece flowing design with glass and I think the cost of customization job probably won't justify

You live in OC now?

I guess they didn't understand what I meant when I asked them to erase the "4" on the fender grill badge haha

But wow, I didn't expect this much negativity towards conversion mod on gran coupe from some of you. Thought I was creating something very unique rather than being a poser M4

I read the responses and almost all the non-positive comments were about the M badge on that sacred ground. You must have seen that coming, so for you to be surprised is, well, surprising.

If you were going take the M off anyway, why not do it before you showed us your otherwise amazing transformation.

Your car looks stunning. Great job.

Replacement mirror caps are rubbish indeed.. The shape is just off!

I am chasing for my M3 conversion, I bought left mirror motor and mounts ( with camera - almost brand new, slightly used ) for 350$ shipped, I bought mirror glasses both sides for 200$ brand new, I am able to buy the mirror caps, OEM, 100$ around here. so you can make it like 1.000 - 1.300$ range

It would be a great addition, better than engine mods imho

You can get those mirrors much cheaper - just look carefully and take your time. I checked out eBay ones and they are not worth wasting your money.

You know what forget what I posted about the trunk. It wont work for our GC, only on the coupes. I had a momentary lapse of consciousness there. Also, your car has inspired me to black out my side view mirror covers. I am going to buy some gloss black vinyl wrap.

And yes, I am back to the OC! Scared, sheltered OC boy like me couldnt survive on the mean streets of LA even though I mainly hung around Westwood!! We all know how rough that part of the city is! LOL!

BTW, do you still have the S5? I used to own the S5 convertible before this. I miss the grunt of that supercharged engine. I think eventually I am going back to Audi. Here is pic:

The amount of work doing all the research and collecting parts to make this project possible left me very little to care about how others perceive this added letter...honestly it was just a badge to me that looked cool but I guess now I know maybe there's something real sacred about it to some

In your OP you said "I'll make sure I debadge that ridiculous M". Now you are confused. Which is it?

Look, this topic has been done to death. Your car looks phenomenal. Go with that. Leave the M or take it off. Its your car. Just know that you will be getting a lot or rolled eyes as you roll down the street.
