Took this out of my car a few days ago as I'll be selling the car soon.

This upgrade uses in-car screen mirroring — a technology that lets you cast the screen of your mobile device onto the BMW’s display, and stream audio through the car speakers. It means that you can:

-Let your passengers see photos and videos on a high-resolution screen
-Get access to popular navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze etc
-Surf the web/check emails while parked
-Stream music from your iPhone/iPad through Spotify, Tidal, etc.

In addition, there are native apps included in the Apple TV system. You can use Apple TV in your car without connecting your iPhone/iPad to SmartView HD — turn on your favorite TV shows on Hulu, Netflix or HBO for passengers, view live sports as well as check the weather and the latest news.

--------Installation----------

The installation is fully plug & play as well as 100% reversible. The whole process itself may take up to 2h. You will need to get to your head unit so that you could pull it out to connect the MMI module. To do this, it will be necessary to remove all the trim that covers it (face plate, upper & lower trim).

The MMI and Apple TV3 can be mounted above or under the head unit. If there isn’t enough space, you can fit them near the glove box compartment.

The smartview HD brings mirroring to your car display from your iOS device as well as enables all the content and apps included with Apple TV. The link you send is for adding carplay to your car.
