The GTS Startup Roar option should work on a stock car.

The setting is set to 'ON' for the GTS start up roar. It only burbles on start up after I have driven it around for a bit and the engine is slightly heated up. On cold starts it doesn't sound any different from when it was off
The only mod on my car is that I have installed a Cat back 340i exhaust system (with golf tee mod)

GTS roar only work when your engine is warm. It will not work when your engine is cold.
GTS roar is not effected by the mods you had, as long as you enables it and the engine is warm, it should work.

The problem is, choking up which many people also had it.

Does anyone happen to know if i can run the N20 E30 tune on 102 RON pump gas and Stage 2 hardware? I don't have access to high ethanol fuel but wonder if the high octane pump gas we have in Germany would work instead. Unless there are different considerations tuning for Ethanol mixes instead of "Race" fuel?

Looks like bm3 is "more" detectable, for the time being at least.

nice info

thanks God my BMW dealer is fine with tuning and other performance mods.
Still under warranty until 2022, and last month just claim the ABS module for free with BM3 stage 1 still installed.

Crap. I wonder if this is going to affect n20/n26 timing chain claims IF the class action lawsuit does go thru.

Your waiting on the class action lawsuit(CAL)... it won't affect anything. A CAL is a group lawsuit... you might get something (probably less than $500) or not. The law firm will make the money. BMW will not check every car.

Remember Hyundai CAL for mpg. Friend got $200 dollars out of it....

Ford transmission CAL... have a maximum of $2300 per car because it depends on how many times you went to visit ford to complain or Ford service the transmission .. up to 8 visit.

for those who is experiencing engine start chokes when cold, this is what PTF suggest me to do.

I don't know the result yet, since tomorrow i will clean my BMS open filter. Hope this fix the choking issue.

Has the BM3 transmission tuning come far enough that its not worth doing the xHP flash? Ive had my F31 for over 24 hours now so its about time to change something, right?

I was thinking Id leave power stock and just do the xHP tune at first but at over $300 for the license and maps Id rather not do it if its redundant and Id get just as much benefit from the transmission map on the BM3 setup.

If that was the case Id obviously rather just go for the BM3 and get everything in one place.

Bm3 transflash is still the same as before... I don't think there an update at all.

So if you have driven car with bm3 transflash, that all there is to it. XHP flash is still very different feel. So still a tossed up if it is worth the upgrade from bm3 transflash.

Haven't driven either!

But I'm coming off a 6MT and never loved the soft takeoff from a standstill and shift logic of our autos very much and it seems from what I've read that the XHP flash makes huge improvements to the feel of these cars. If BM3 offered similar improvement then I'd hate to do both but it seems like their trans tune is more of a bonus feature than a key feature at this point

Correct ... bm3 transflash is a bonus indeed. I don't know about you but I should just as wait for funds and get bm3 stage 1 or 2 whichever you prefer and decide then if the transmission flash is good enough for you.

The biggest advantage of x-hp flash is that you can change shift point on sport mode (auto mode) which is really great when using everyday on city traffic. The rpm don't stay on the higher rpm and will save you gas. I mean it can shift up and cruise.

if you feel enough with BM3 transmission tune, spend your money somewhere else. It is a good transmission tune come from its bigger brother. But that's it.

if you want to feel a game changer, go with XHP.

I have done both tune. Would go for BM3 first as the power gain is addictive. XHP would further improve the driving experience in term of faster gear changing and removing the torque limit. I also set the RPM limit to 6k for comfort and 6.5k for sports. No point going higher as the torque start to drop after 5k.

TCU flash is not supported on F31 in bm3, at least not with b46 engine. Had to go with xHP.

Anyway, a G30 had something similar pop up:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BmwTech/com...now_autoflags/

So it looks like the car is flagged anytime it's plugged in.

after conversion with PTF, it seems that the engine chokes is caused by aftermarket intake. i will try to put back the stock intake, and see if this still happens.

also, all BM3 OTS tune is designed for stock intake, at least that what PTF said.
