Driver restraint malfunction
I just replaced my driver seatbelt changing from tan to black and I got a driver restraint malfunction. I cleared the error memory a few times with no avail. Are the seatbelts from the 2013/14 f30s compatible with the later 2016 model ones ? does anyone have any solutions for this ?

'Maybe' realoem.com will help. I'm sure the PNs will be different because of the color, but suspect the color 'digit' is the same that varies within the same car. If it varies too much in the number, it probably does in the function, too...but I'm mostly hoping you'll see it's the same part and know it's a coding issue.
You've checked all modules for errors to clear? Did you disconnect the battery before swapping one with the other...five mins. before? This page is for mine...a 2016. Compare to the same page for 2013. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=72_0762

That's why I was wondering if you're sure you've seen codes from all modules. Clearing 'should' take care of the battery issue, but I don't know if there might be other modules that specifically need to be examined for codes. I only have used my Foxwell a couple of times, so don't know. Not sure how you are with wiring diagrams, but perhaps you could verify if the wiring from the different parts is the same? If it was me, I'd put an original back in and see if you can clear the codes...and if they clear and it works, then I'd 86 the new belts.

I'm getting a driver restraint malfunction error, too, and have been getting this error forever. When you had the error, did your heated seats and seat controls work? Mine don't whenever it comes on (it comes and goes in random intervals—sometimes for weeks, sometimes for months, sometimes even for a few seconds).
