Does the 4yr/50k warranty cover rattles?
I've got a 2015 BMW that I picked up CPO, but it's still under the original warranty for other year. I've got 43k miles on it and I've got an annoying rattle. Are these still covered under the new car warranty or did BMW make changes? My last car had rattles covered but wasn't sure about newer cars like my 2015.

Yes, I've brought my car lots of times... they're able to fix it 90% of the time.
It's just annoying to not have your car and to drive to the dealership, thats the only inconvenience.

Yeah they'll cover it but I work on my own creaks, squeaks and rattles as I don't need a tech screwing something else up in the process of fixing it. Too many incidents at various dealers caused me to react this way and my favorite experience was the oil/grease on my pillar AND headliner after getting an inspection. (happened at a Caddy dealer a few years back) All they needed to do was to remove old sticker then replace it with a new one but instead, I ended up without a car for a week and received a new pillar and headliner. Glass needed to come out for that too.
I'll "F" up my own car and certainly don't need their help with that haha

Yes, but how much luck you will have with the dealer actually fixing them is another matter.

Mine did. Had a bad rattle/vibration under high torque on take off somewhere in the rear headliner between the dome light and rear third break light (so i thought).
Turned out it was the shelf between the rear seat and the rear windscreen (that flat bit behind the rear seat headrests that covers the truck area. Dealership removed it and re-secured it. Warranty work. Problem solved. |
