Side skirt decal stickers?

Can anyone recommend some side skirt decals?

For example:
https://www.amazon.com/FidgetGear-Pe...gateway&sr=8-3

Not sure how good something like this looks and how well it installs. Post pics if you have any.

Pass. Not my cup of tea, but if you like the look, I'd say try to get the genuine BMW ones (though they are about $140 online for what is basically just some cut/printed vinyl). I just feel like it skews the lines and proportions a bit. :

Looks like this is the black decal, and then another M Performance decal that you apply over it. AFAIK, the BMW one has the logo printed directly onto the decal. Plus, with these aftermarket manufacturers, the quality of the logo itself is often a little off, either in the font or spacing.

FWIW, I got mine off ebay for $30. It's a good "practice" solution for:
1. To test how it would go on/off
2. To test if you like it and if you don't it's only $30 versus $120-$180.

Durability-wise, I've been pleasantly surprised. It's been on a good year and no signs of cracking, peeling, etc. Resists scuffs really well too. The only downer is that it doesn't say BMW Motorsport. But then again, I don't need all the extra signage and my 435is is totally debadged anyway save the BMW logos.

I think the effect is pretty subtle.

Here's a youtube video of me putting the ebay one on.

Good timing. I was just looking at this. I was going to dip it to see how I like it, but would rather have vinyl to try.

I have experience with both ebay etc and oem - the main differences I noticed are:
  • M Performance is part of the decal not placed on top (see pic)
  • Material is a very heavy gauge vinyl that is neither shiny nor dull - exists somewhere in between - I have not seen another vinyl that matches it exactly
  • Comes with a mounting template as part of each decal that makes alignment almost idiot proof
  • Comes with a little triangle piece for each side that makes the sticker wrap around the front part of rocker panel (see circle in pic) - silly yes but the attention to detail you would expect from OEM

Now whether the aforementioned points makes them worth $150 or so for vinyl is purely subjective. Just sharing the differences that I have witnessed

The one thing I dont like about the M Performance side skirts is the sticker, lol. It seems so out of place, imo anyway.

chenry - with the motorsport decal, is it a dry method install or wet method? I ask as eventually I might do the OEM version.

I think it's up to the individual - however we had an installer put them on for us and he used a water bottle and a squeegee - the installer said it was super easy because of the template (basically the piece lines up with the entire rocker and then peels off)

Hope I answered your question - if not hit me back

Thanks for the feedback.

I also will most likely have it professionally installed because I want to make sure it's perfect and most likely won't cost that much since mine has the template as well.

Thanks chenry . I'll update my Youtube video accordingly.
Your input will come in handy if I ever decide to go with the Motorsport decal in the future.
