New Ebay Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifters

Guys,

Just wanted to share this... I picked up a custom steering wheel off Ebay, made to order so I got to customize the colors/materials. Shipped from Poland. All-in took about 2 weeks to receive. Seller - AACars.

I was able to reuse the stock airbag and coded in the paddle shifters in less than 5 minutes with Bimmercode. For under $500, I'm pretty pumped

The ergonomics of the wheel itself aren't great, but I think it looks cool and I'm getting used to it pretty quick. Would def recommend for the price.

Image not showing up. Is your car non M Sport? If the stock wheel didnt have paddle shifters, your car must've been pre-wired for paddles. I've been interested in a new wheel and paddle shifter retrofit but havent gotten around to checking to see if my car is pre-wired for the paddles.

There ya go. Photobucket was being dumb.

Yes - I have the non-sportline/non m-sport model. I know there was a good chance the car may not have been pre-wired but I took a gamble and it payed off. I did lose my heated steering wheel but with the added padding and alcantara, it doesn't seem as cold to the touch.

Nice, I think it looks good! I'll have to check that seller out. M sport wheel and new airbag is too pricey for me. I'm also a 2015 base model, this post makes me hopeful I'm prewired as well.

As far as I know, all F30 steering wheels are interchangeable.

good point. it's the whole reason is didn't go with the 3 spoke m sport wheel because I didn't want to source a different airbag.

Yeah - That's what I have. I also have the heated wheel option (S248) which I lost with upgrading to this steering wheel.

There is a module within the steering wheel, which I thought was only for the heat element. If you have this, you need to swap it over as well because without it you will get an annoying cruise control malfunction in iDrive intermittently. Cruise control still works without it, just annoying.

I also have the heated wheel, so I'll definitely keep in mind about that module.
Thanks for checking out bro.

I am getting this exact error you described. The dealer wanted $1700+ to replace SZL and harness. My original wheel did not have heat or paddles. I bought a leather steering wheel and the correct airbag, wired in the paddles (which was not difficult, plenty of writeups available in this forum) but I still do not have the heat function and I get the occasional cruise control error.

Do you know which module from the original wheel needs to be swapped over? I still have it and the airbag.
