Way good! Where is Cary located?

Considering I really have no idea on pricing. I've had full ECU tunes done on a dyno, piggybacks, flash tunes, etc... All in the past, all on different cars. I have no idea how much it would cost for a BM3 custom tune..? Anyone care to enlighten me? I currently have a Stage 2 BM3 91 octane OTS tune with FBO.

I have to see what he charges before I feel it’s worth it. Each his own. Now What he does to the F8Xs to me is incredible.

C'mon dude! Big turbo or PS2 will require 2-3 times the amount of money, and that's not even taking into consideration what other upgrades you have to make to run a big turbo... I'm sure the price is negotiable, and that's not a lot for someone to fine tune your ECU. Just think, before the days of turbocharging, you would spend $2k+ for maybe 30hp and 20+ lbs ft torque. I think a custom tune is a reasonable next step for me.
I remember dumping over $10k in mods for a 2002.5 GTI VR6 one time. Now I upgraded the brakes, wheels, and suspension, but I spent over $2k just on power, and it was barely noticeable.
Once I figure out how to get a different exhaust setup first. The AA unit I just had installed is just not working for me. If it weren't my wife's car (our family car), this unit would be just fine, once I figure out how to line up the tips that is...

So $2500-3500, plus installation ~$1000, plus parts, plus fueling mods, plus the $500 tune for the big turbo. Not even remotely close to an even comparison. So if BM3 OTS gets you +70whp/100wtq an additional $500 for +20whp/70wtq seems quite reasonable.

By all means if you want more that’s perfectly fine too! Just don’t hate on the custom tune option because it definitely makes a major difference.

I'd rather go the full route than pay 500.00 vs spending 500.00 twice is my point. Again 500.00 for 20whp not my bag. But for each his own!! I already paid 500.00 plus for BM3 so since my goals are to at least have 200whp I'm not interested in paying 500.00 three times. So it all depends on your goals. I cant knock it if that is what folks want you're right, but I am personally talking about my goals so maybe I need to re-mention that.

Oh yeah... 200whp gain is a different boat altogether. You're either swapping turbo, or gutting for a PS2 type setup, possibly 100 octane or meth. Either way, this "minimal" gain is not for you. But for me? I don't care if it's 10hp, but for 70+ ft lbs of torque, I am absolutely interested!

No it does not. The OTS maps are very good and offer plenty of power.

I went from JB4 to BM3 mostly for "driveability" and "smoothness" in power delivery, not strictly power numbers. It didn't bother me that I had to pay a little extra, so I don't mind paying the extra for a custom tune on a stock turbo. A little extra fun for a car I drive 50 (spirited) mi/day. The added torque will make traffic more fun

And yes, to each their own. Additional tunes from Cary are also cheaper after buying the initial custom tune - updates are free.
