i was planning on the this next generation gran coupe but the grill, lack of the hofmeister kink, increased size and turning radius has turned me off.

Maybe an Audi S5,but even it is due for a change.

...i suppose there are some positives, i'm not spending money

Couldn't agree more, as a former F36 owner.
Saw an alpine white G26 for the first time parked up recently and it's a real minger. It's not just the front, the rear quarter is poor too.

The grilles are starting to be the one feature that are not the worst. The side view is horrible, the only real design feature I like in the new 3er and 4er are the tail design particularly the tail lights, especially on the M3 and M4, but the rest of the car looks pants.
