Radiator coolant temperature sensor error

HELP. I have 2014 328i with a n26 engine. I keep getting a radiator coolant temperature sensor error 10A001 when reading the CEL (Coolant outlet temperature sensor, electrical: Short circuit to B+ or line open). I have changed the sensor on the top part of the radiation 3 times sine August. The sensor error goes away sometimes, I have noticed that it goes away when the outside temperature is cold but then comes back. I tested the radiator fan and the radiator and they are fine no issues. In tring to get the error to go away I have replaced the water pump, the other coolant temperature sensor, thermostat and the coolant. With all that the error has not gone away. I have tested the voltage from one side of the sensor and I get the normal 5v. I have a thought that it might be the battery. The battery has not been charged sine the car was made. I have had the battery tested at a couple of auto parts store and they said it was fine, but 9 year old battery could go any time. Please help me what can I check or change or do to fix this check engine light.

I forgot to say that I checked the wires and plug no visible damage.

Test the connector to insure it's providing the necessary voltage?

I just tested the connection and the error did not go away. So an update, I just changed the battery in the car. I was noticing that when I go to start the car it didn't turn over as easy as it was. Now with a new battery I'm hoping that the error goes away. I will keep you posted.

Same 10A001 error

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm going through the same issue with my 2014 428. I have the 10A001 error (P00B4). I have a new battery, coolant flushed (BMW coolant), new sensors, tested wiring it's good. Still have the check engine light except it went from "intermittent" to "permanent"... Any ideas?

No I have found a fix yet. After doing more research I found the ohm tolerance is never tight so now I am trying to find what the ohm curve should be for different temperatures. Also I am trying to find which ecu that sensor is plugged into. If anyone knows please share.

Had the same problem with my 2014 f30 n26 engine

I have had the same issue with my 2014 328i. I found out that if I was low on coolant I would get the same error codes. when I added coolant and did the coolant air purge the error would go away. To do the air purge step (1) turn the car on but do not start the engine. step (2) turn th A/C to max temp (84 deg) with fan speed set to its lowest setting. step (3) push the accelator pedal to the floor for 10 sec. the auto purge should start and run for appox 12 mins.
