Been busy in my garage.. Extracted the diff from the housing and noticed that BMW really haven't thought that anybody does anything to these. No cutouts for extractor to grab the bearing inner race:

All the professional tool shops were close so tried cheap chinese bearing puller.. Well, as you can quess, they are soft metal and just bend and the race wont budge. Mill time. Actually I'm not using this part anymore so it doesn't matter. Anyhow even if I would, I doubt this would make any differences:

Both of the inner race were pretty tough to pull but Kukko extractor won this round. Then lathe time:

After few millimeters the weld that held the crown wheel in place were in the chip pan. Few knoks with soft hammer to the crown wheen and they are separated:

It is stupid that BMW didn't add drain plug to the diff. Yes, you can suck the oil out but I want to drain the oil out. Measured that the cast wall thickness is around 6-7mm. So don't want to make big holes and no machining for flat surface for the gasket as I didn't want to thin the wall. I had NPT 1/8" taper thread tap in hand so I decided to use that. Then internal hex head plug to seal the hole:

To be continued..
