This tutorial is great, and I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I'm finding that the inside of the hatch on the F31 is quite different from the liner inside the trunk lid on the F30. Does anybody have some tips on how to get at the inner lights on an F31?

As the install of the lights on a F31 is a bit more complicated then the F30, here some pics of the wiring for the inner lights.
Here is how I did the wiring. The only parts you have to remove are the 2 sliding covers (where the lights are), the upper trim of the tailgate. Also undo the trim where the concertina goes inside the tailgate.(there’s 1 torx screw under the rubber piece, the rest just clicks off). See picture. Then i took out the inner taillight on the right side. You can run the wiring of the left taillight tot he right side with a bith routing. Then I inserted a flexible iron wire from the top of the tailgate tot he bottom of the tailgate where the inner light is. This is very easy. Now you take the 2 wires and tape them tot he metal wire and pull the wire up and guide the wires easily to the top. Once this is done, you take out the sealings of the rubber concertina on both sides. I then sprayed some silicone spray in the concertina and on the wires to guide them easy through the concertina. Actually this went really easy. It’s just a matter of opening and closing the uper part of the tailgate and complete tailgate for easy acces of putting in the wires. Then you release the 2 screw on the D pillar and pull off the rubber seal ( you have to pull strong to take off. Now you take off the cover fort he battery to access the REM box. I connected them directly to the connectors with a scotchlock tot he correct wires. Put everything back together and done |

I've fitted these to mine now but I use the original BMW OEM Retrofit cable part no# 61122410220 it was only £40.
In have attached the original BMW fitting instructions for these lights using the original retrofit cable. Last edited by Morasool; 12-06-2016 at 04:49 AM.. |

The coding of new fires is not required, since there is no error on the idrive but against there will flicker flashing at each startup |

I am in the progress to install the lci taillights on my f31 and I am going to follow your instructions. But what parts of the tailgate inside trim do I need to remove? And do I need to remove the d-pillar trim? Thanks in advance. |

Hello!
I installed the lights today without having to remove any trim panels except for the battery panel, the light covers and the left outside tailgate panel as shown on your photo. I manage to route the cables by using a steel wire (with plastic isolation) to drag the cable through. One issue I got (I dont think I have seen that been mentioned) was the LCI inner tail lights had a M8 screw instead of a M10. I manage to solve it by removing the flared M10 nut and replace it with a washer and M8 nut. Next step will be coding. |

lci taillights instalation
Hi. i downloaded the originalninstructions pdf from bmw. They wrote that you have to plug the 2 extra wires in the A174 13b pin 5 and pin 13.
Are there more options for the conection of the 2 wires? Thanks |

If you follow the procedure of the BMW document Here is the coding to do Just add to the HO-wort (HELD) and code REM If after adding HELC and REM code does not work It is necessary to modify as indicated REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BLINKER_H_L_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BLINKER_H_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.7V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BLINKER_H_R_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BLINKER_H_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.7V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_L_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 100% [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_R_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 100% [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BREMSL_L_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BREMSL_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.5V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BREMSL_R_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping1 3062 > MAPPING_BREMSL_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.5V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_NEBELSCHLUSSL_L_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_NEBELSCHLUSSL_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.5V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_NEBELSCHLUSSL_R_FIXED_PWM = fixed REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_NEBELSCHLUSSL_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.5V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_RUECKFAHRL_L_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.7V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_RUECKFAHRL_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 = 13.7V [Default] REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_6_OUTPUT = sl_2_l REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_7_OUTPUT = sl_2_r REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_8_OUTPUT = bfd_l REM_01 > LceLampMapping2 3063 > MAPPING_UNIVERSAL_9_OUTPUT = bfd_r REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_L_CCM = ccm_blinker_l REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_L_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = dimmed REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_R_CCM = ccm_blinker_r REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_R_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BFD_R_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = dimmed REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_L_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_R_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > BL_R_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG = aktiv [Default] REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_R_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG = aktiv [Default] REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_L_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = aktiv [Default] REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_R_CCM = NEW_ccm_nsl_r REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_R_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_R_UE_SPG_SCHUTZ = aktiv [Default] REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > NSL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG = nicht_aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > RFS_L_CCM = NEW_ccm_rfs_l REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_2_L_CCM = Fxx_ccm_sl_2_l REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_2_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_2_R_CCM = Fxx_ccm_sl_2_r REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_2_R_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_L_IS_LED = aktiv REM_01 > LceOutputChannels 3061 > SL_R_IS_LED = aktiv |

Because of the 2 or 3 threads of the Mperformance tail lights on the forum, I asked the following and I leave it here for anyone who knows...
