Is ID6 any better at routing round traffic?

Driving back home today I had waze on my phone and sat nav both showing the same route when waze pops up about a crash along the route. It then tells me it will cause a big delay so I use it select a different route round. Go to the sat nav and try alternate routes but it is adamant that the current route is quickest and even shows thick red lines where the traffic is queued.

Is ID6 any better? as if it is I would consider a retro as we all know how utter turd bmw rtti is.

I doubt it, it still relies on the same mainstream RTTI, which can't compete with a crowd share app like Waze. Having said that, I don't find Waze all it's cracked up to be, it often chooses a daft initial route anyway. It is only congested routes that it wins at, where it gets data from secondary roads, that mainstream RTTI doesn't always cover.

Also, someone said you can code ID6, which seems to suggest it is a light upgrade on ID5.

+1 on the daft initial routing on Waze. Waze hasn't really worked out delays caused by traffic lights and as such will route you straight through the urban jungle rather than the bypass/motorway in order to allegedly save a minute or two.

RTTI isn't perfect but from my experience does the job well enough.
