F30 has very thin front fenders

Is it just me, or do you guys notice how unbelievably thin/weak the front fenders are?

I have a few ripples in the front fenders on both sides right at the base of the A pillar - near the top of the fender between the front door and the front wheel well.

They have been there since very early, but have increased in number/severity. I am planning to get them improved with some PDR, but am unaware of any cause other than speculating that a phone or key fob in my pocket dents them slightly when I wash and dry my windshield.

Any thoughts as to how this happens? Anyone else have this issue?

Well, terrible picture, but we had zero sunlight this weekend. Maybe I will start a new thread that isn't moved into the dungeon when I can get a better picture.
