Mod of the day, took an old Lighting cable and split off the data from the power so I have a lighting cable with two USB ends, one that connects to the Android Box used for CarPlay and the power is now connected to my 2Amp car USB charger so now I can now use CarPlay without my battery slowly dying, not the tidiest of jobs but need to prove it would work before making it nice.

Note running Waze and CarPlay will still slowly drain the phone.

I am finding it difficult to find this new BMW evo 6 menu. Can anyone here pa guide me what setting you did? I am not able to find this...

If you have the latest November firmware, you should find it under settings > system info > factory setup (pass 1314) > arm setting > Modes set > Choose BMW-EVO-ID6 then stop the engine for 1 min and start again and it should reboot with the new ID6 menu.

Maybe you have a different firmware then than the rest of us? Did you try load the ones posted on here?

In the modes set id6 mode is missing after flashing January update...

Download the firmware
Format a USB stick to Fat32
Copy the update.img to the USB Stick
Boot up the Android unit
Plug in the USB Stick
Popup will detect the update on the USB stick and ask you if you want to update so click OK
Allow the system to update and reboot
Once completed remove the USB stick

Is your unit gen1 or gen2 ? Maybe only works for gen2

I think gen2 came out in Oct 2017 any earlier than that is gen 1

If you have a gps pigtail hanging out of the unit, you have a gen1

I have gen1 with latest software but no Id6 so I think it only works if you got gen2 🙁

it should work i have the gen1 and just loaded the latest update and the new id6 is there

have gone in to the factory setting and selected the Id6 it will not be loaded by default
