There is still no solution.
I have the same problem and tried everything possible, but it does not get better.
I assume you have the NBT Evo (ID4 ++) between 07/2015 and 07/2016?

Yes, my car is 01/2016 And this problem only came up when I retrofitted to 6wb.
With my old 6wa extended, no problem

Yes, exactly the same for me.
It is because the 6WB was not intended for the Evo ID4++.

I just finished my 2nd retrofit of the 6WB cluster in an F30. All went well thanks to everyone's research!

This time around is an LCI with iDrive 6 (NBT-Evo) and I wonder if the dealership would be able to update everything normally, or will I still need to put the old cluster in sometimes?

There should be no problems with an ID6, because the 6WB is also installed with the ID6 from factory.

I have a NBT, model 2014 with HUD.

Does this mean I need to update the i-step from my HU?

Correct me if I'm wrong but from my understanding, when the dealer attempts to update the car, ISTA will throw an error b/c its the VO technically doesn't match from there database vs whats being detected on the car.

I know for the 6wb, this statement is true.

Dealer ISTA programming takes FA from car VCM, not their Database. If 6WB is valid factory option, and FA Build Date is original, and car has all supporting hardware, then it is no problem to be programmed by Dealer.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! (And all the help you provide on the forums!!)

At some point in the fall I’m going to have them update the whole car and hopefully the cluster along with it. Both are newer than what I have available (and mismatched versions as well) and I’m hesitant to update everything anyway. Car is on 18-03-511, cluster is 18-07-549, I have 18-11-520 (63.2). I know there’s at least an 18-11-531 as of maybe 4ish months ago.

I can tell you that it was problem on mine.

Dealer updated istep and thought it was updated.

It wasn't. Only updated when 6WA was reinstalled.

For my car (built 07/2015) it was no valid factory option and the ID4++ NBTEvo doesn't support the 6WB for 100%.

I did find 3000->BMW logo -> default:BMW, changed to MPM. Waiting 10 mins for the car to sleep to test this out.

EDIT: changing the bmw logo to MPM shows "m550i(or m550d, cant remember". Other options are bmw_i, bmw_x5, bmw_x6, unk_param_0, unk_param_1, unk_param_2, and unk_param_3.

Is there a way to increase the splash screen time?
Hi, I’m trying to get this to work on my 6wb with BimmerCode does anyone know if this will work...? I would like to display M Performance logo on cluster but only seem to be able to code it to show M550d :-(

No one has been able to make that happen yet so if you do - you'd be the pioneer

Is there a full DIY coding manual available for retrofitting the 6WB digital cluster?

With 'full' I mean with all the different options like HUD, compass, etc.

I'm running into this issue now with my dealership. They are not able to do any update with the 6WB but I fear if I swap it out with the 6WA for them to update, I wont be able to put the 6WB back in? If they update software does the 6WB need to be re-coded?

No. Since 6WB is not being programmed and encoded, it retains its coding. If you had to Code Head Unit to support 6WB, it though would need to be coded after putting 6WB back in car.
