The reason I ask about the Chapter reconsidering is that I did go on the national site and read the operating manual and on page 43

http://www.bmwcca.org/sites/default/...AOpsManual.pdf

it reads that Chapters can decide whether to allow E89 (a car with factory-installed, fixed rollover protection) on the track as long as a "broomstick test" is passed

Quote:
At the discretion of the Chapter, cars with factory-installed, fixed rollover protection or removable roof
sections may be allowed, but only if this protection meets the Helmet Reference Plane described in Figure
1 in Section 3.7 for both the driver and passenger.
Is it truly a national level issue if it is "at the discretion of the chapter"?

EDIT: I hope I am not coming across the wrong way here. I truly am curious if I can take my E89 or not.

If you are certain you will pass the broomstick test, sign up. Remember the broomstick test means placing a flat stick or plane between the top of the roll hoop and A pillar, and while seated, the top of your helmet must be at a minimum of 2" below the stick/plane.

Do it!

I'm going. I want to experience this facility in all its glory. I heard the racing surface is as smooth as a baby's bottom. That'll be a nice change from Bumpywillow. Plus apparently the 'clubhouse' has very nice amenities.

Let's just say it's the smoothest track surface you will EVER get to drive on. When I drove there last, it was like driving that stretch of the 118 with the brand new pavement. Glass freakin' smooth with a TON of grip.

I mean it made the Sienna I was driving at the time handle like it was on rails.

I just looked...16 have signed up. I'm going to see if I can make it happen. You had a good idea to make it a "Vegas" trip. I could leave my family there then come to the track with you.

This one has been rescheduled to the LAST weekend of the year (the weekend between Christmas and New Years, Dec. 28-29). Those that signed up for the July 13-14th date should have received their refunds by now.

New Years at Vegas. Now I think I can convince the Missus to come out and play.
