BMW Connected App - Launched in Canada

Hello All

BMW Canada is happy to announce the introduction of the BMW iOS Connected App for Canada.

Benefits at a glance:

• Manage multiple vehicles under a single BMW ConnectedDrive Account.
• Recommendations for optimal departure times are available remotely via iPhone or Apple Watch and can be seamlessly transferred into the car.
• Conveniently operate and check your vehicle from wherever you are.
• Learns your personal mobility patterns and is able to automatically add frequent destinations.
• Powerful office and navigation solutions.
• Easy management of your BMW's services and maintenance requirements.
• Quick and straightforward transfer to roadside assistance call centre.
• News and updates on all things BMW.
• Schedule service appointments through the app.

Customers will need to have an active BMW ConnectedDrive account, which can be created at https://www.bmw-connecteddrive.ca

You will then be able to log into the app with the username and password that they have created.

I will post updates and enhancements in this thread to keep everyone up to date on the latest features and changes,.

Thanks for the update. I still not able to do any
of the remote service and emailing connect drive team does nothing. I see the new app in my car thought. Everything else work except the remote services like lock door is not working. Yes I do have connect drive professional subscribed.

I downloaded the app months ago from US store and working. Now suddenly my car's internet access is down for days. No real time traffic info, No weather, no BMW online, no app locating car nothing. I delete the car from my account on Connected drive website then re add. I can't add it again because can't see any verification code sent in my car. I can't see any new map location send to car. In data transfer view, application data, weather, are both stuck. Can you check my car info at back end? K373433. I just bought one year of connected drive subscription this month. If nothing works in my car, I am wasting my money. I will need refund then.

It happened starting this Thursday Oct 25th. Maybe something to do with the app launching in Canada? My profile got screwed up at BMW server????

canadian33 when will the Canadian version of the Android app be available (or at least proper Canadian functionality ... am tired of the app thinking my name's "Homer").

I just checked in the apple app store and found the new app. I installed it, logged in and it found my car right away. Looking forward to the android version...

I have the US version of the android app and it works almost completely with the Canadian backend. I posted instructions on 2Addicts: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1550423 ... just make sure you get the proper version of the Android app (there's two, you want the NA one).

I think this Android apk is still old version. It does not have all features as official IOS connected app released last week in Canadian App store.

It is the latest Android version released October 30, 2018. It has all the features available to Android users that BMW provides.

The issue you're identifying is that BMW does little to support Android and provides much less functionality. Android users are second class citizens in BMW's world and they mislead customers in not making it clear before purchase.

I tried asking in an earlier thread. Newby question...

Where do I find the “6 digit passcode” that’s sent to the vehicle. Does it just appear on the I drive? Do I retrieve it from somewhere?

I don’t have “Messages” anywhere under “Connected Drive”. Under Connected there is BMW Assist: Roadside Assistance/Customer Relations/Your Service Centre. There’s a 1-800 # listed for Roadside, nothing for CR and the same 1-800 for Service.

When I connect my iPhone by USB and open the new Connected App, it works, there’s icons for BMW Connected, BMW Calendar and more apps like Spotify, etc. It asks me on the app to enter the 6-digit code from the vehicle.

If Messages was ever there it’s gone now. I renewed my Connected Drive Professional Subscription for 3 years last March.

I noticed the BMW Assist button is no longer working either.

Any help, comments, advice much appreciated.

You must be logged in. Press options when in connected drive to get to the login option.

I hope this helps, I am no expert, my car is so messed up, I cannot even login.
I got to my car today and it was logged out and I cannot log in with my connected drive account.

So tired of all this...

Thanks. I can log into the app when I'm connected by USB. Just can't do anything remotely since I can't receive the message in the car with the activation code.

No idea where my messages app went. It was there originally and seems to have dropped off last year.

Until you are logged in, you will not see messages.

How do I do that? I tried pressing Options after selection Connected Drive but there’s no sign in option there.

I did find a Messages under Office but no recent messages or the 6 digit code were there.

Go to the connected drive screen in iDrive then press the option button next to the iDrive controller.
You will then get to a screen with a login selection.
Then enter your connected drive userid and password.
