Unhappy Stripped License Plate Bracket - 2015 320i

My relative just purchased a used BMW and when he left the dealership it only had one screw holding the license plate. We took it to a BMW dealer today and they said the left side hole is stripped and it will need a new bracket ($99 parts and labor). The car is still under the factory warranty but they said this is not covered.

The dealership where he bought the car from won't fix it. Any advice?

Thanks!

How soon did he notice/did it happen after purchase? They should definitely be responsible.

Worst case scenario he should just buy it himself and replace it himself, not hard or expensive. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/51117294678/

A few weeks later, they also promised to fix the curb rash but that never happened.

Lol sounds like a shitty place. Blast them on social media and stop by and talk to them in person too.

Yes indeed. He did stop by and the service department wanted him to leave it there for a week so he would be stuck without a car. I tried to contact them today on social media but that was no help. They have 1000s of cars for sale.

I'm assuming it was bought at another lot, then taken to the BMW dealer.

3rd party lots suck. When I was shopping for a 2013, one dealer (not bmw) offered a 7 year warranty, but couldn't provide paper on what that meant. I smelled coolant and asked them to address that issue, all they wanted to do was sell the car.

I was out of there in a hurry.

One or more of these, sized large enough to hold, stainless steel so they won't rust:

Any local hardware store will help you find the right size and put them on for you, for just the price of the screws.
