Transfer key electronics from F30 shell to X5 key shell?

Can I open up my F30 key fob

Remove the electronics, and place them in an X5 key fob? It seems like the button locations are in the same position and the spacing is similar.

Do both of these remotes use the same batteries?

Isn't there a bit of a problem with the physical key? How will you move the F30 key to the X5 fob? It's not an obvious fit and I assume you don't want to be without it when your battery dies.

Answering your detailed questions appears to be something you could easily do for yourself.

You could always get a locksmith to cut the new key for you, that would be pretty in-expensive.

I don't think this is possible, looking on eBay it seems the two have a slightly different PCB layout and shape.

They are two completely different PCB and will not work.
