"Configure SPORT mode" missing
I have a 2012 328i Sport line. The printed manual makes reference to a "Configure SPORT" on page 106/107; it is supposed to show in Settings under the "Door locks" option. This option does not appear on my car, I've tried in both SPORT and SPORT+ mode. I also do not see a "Configure SPORT Mode" when switching to that mode, unlike ECO Pro where I do have the option when switching and under settings.
Is this perhaps not available on the 328i? I'm in Canada if it makes any difference. |

AFAIK, Sport Config allows you to independently select sport or not for:
- Chassis <- only an option for Adaptive suspension - Drivetrain Chassis = firmer suspension settings Drivetrain = throttle response, shift points, etc. Chassis only = firmer suspension with more relaxed shift points for better MPG Drivetrain only = more agressive shift points for more go but suspension still in normal/comfort setting If you do not get the adaptive suspension, the Sport setting can only affect drivetrain so no need for 2nd level of control. |

You are incorrect without m adaptive all the sport button will do is tighten steering and increase throttle response. U can get throttle response to be quicker while leaving chassis in comfort by using the sport position on auto trams equipped cars

Nah, you don't get that option when you only have variable sport steering. I have the var. sport steering but not that option lol

Question...
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have a question. I want to always drive with the car in Sport mode to hear the Active Sound Design feature (sorry, but I think it sounds cool... to all you haters out there). I want the throttle response of comfort mode though to save fuel and keep the RPMs lower in general. I can configure Sport mode by deactivating the Sport drive train option, and thus be able to always hear the Active Sound Design? Since my car does not have adaptive M suspension there wont be any other features of Sport mode activated if the drive train option is not selected even though the display will say the car is in Sport mode, right? Does anyone know if the Active Sound Design is coupled to the Sport drive train setting, or will I still be able to hear it in Sport mode without the Sport drive train enabled?

From the posts, forums, and PDFs from BMW NA (which I cannot find anymore...), I was under the impression that it was only on when the car was in Sport (and Sport +) mode... I had a loaner with it and I was certain that the car had a different exhaust system altogether... Because of this, I only drove it in Sport mode... Currently, I have a 2013 320i xDrive with which I only get 18mpg and it does not have ASD (so I have reasons for wanting to stay in Comfort mode if at all possible!)... Since I'm picking up my 228i soon, I would like to know if it is coupled with the drivetrain configuration features on Sport mode of not... If I'm that into it I should be able to figure it out for myself when I take delivery of the car, I suppose! I want to drive in Sport mode because of ASD but I want the drivetrain configuration of Sport mode disabled. If you disable the Sport drivetrain config. while in Sport mode, is ASD disabled or at the same level of Comfort mode? Anyone with ASD and the 28i motor should be able to test this in Park switching between Comfort and Sport while enabling and disabling the Sport mode drivetrain configuration in iDrive while giving the car some gas.

Finally! Now I know what they call that imitation noise, so I can search it properly without asking redundant questions.
