So I have a black cloud over my head. The replacement intake upper cover is some how stuck with UPS and the tracking that my dealer is getting is We've left the package in our facility. So choked right now...

Somewhat of an update...

I had previously mentioned the intake is relatively unnoticeable from inside the cabin, which still holds true. However, my wife took off in the BMW and I asked her to 'get on it' so I could hear the exhaust from an outsiders perspective. You could definitely hear the wine/whoosh of the intake from outside. It sounded pretty good actually.

Has anyone installed the tuning kit himself? The installation manual is very clear, but when I look at the 3 plugs, they look very crowded and I'm not 100% sure what and which way to move without risking braking anything. Those plugs have a very weird shape and look like were made out of rather thin plastic, so might be easy to break.

It would be great if Dinan could make a short video at least of the part where the plugs are removed and then connected back. The rest of hiding/securing all the cables and the box is very straightforward, but I guess it doesn't harm to include that part as well.

You mean like this one?

The video paired with the installation guide should give you all the details you really need. The video has a hard time with closeup shots whereas the install guide has photos for those problem parts.

This is definitely helpful, shows the clip clearly, and the whole process becomes even clearer. Thanks!

They probably dont. Do you have someone locally that has one?

No idea if they do or not, like I said, I'll ask. Best bet on one locally is a place about an hour and a half away.

Quote for installation was inline with Dinan's pricing.

N55 Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake
for F22 M235i, F3x 335i and F3x 435i

Available May 8th, 2015. Pre-order yours today!

Due to high demand and production limitations this product is highly susceptible to a back order. We are working as quickly as possible to increase production capabilities and fulfill orders but please be aware there may be delays in shipping.

Efficiency and maximizing the potential of the stock intake design were the keys to development for this N55 intake. Our sealed system delivers as much cold outside air as possible to the engine via an optimized carbon fiber tube that mimics the stock pipe but with less resistance with a straighter freer flowing design. The increased amount of air feeds into a larger volume air box complete with a larger filter that elicits a sporty tone that makes the intake sound as good as it performs. This optimized design yields an incredible 10 HP and 15 lb-ft of torque even without any additional modifications. Simply perform the short bolt-on installation in under an hour and enjoy a more powerful and audibly satisfying driving experience.

View the product page HERE for pricing and ordering information.

Benefits of the Dinan Carbon Fiber High Flow Air Intake for the F22 M235i, F30/34 335i and F32/33/36 435i:
  • More Power: +10 HP & +15 lb-ft of torque without additional modifications
  • Even more power can be achieved when combined with the DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner and exhaust. Consult the applicable DINANTRONICS product page for details.
  • Sportier Sound
  • Larger volume air box that completely seals
  • Optimized carbon fiber intake tube
  • Larger cylindrical air filter
  • Larger MAF
  • Quick and easy installation

Stage 2 DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner
For the F30 335i F32/33 435i F22 M235i

With the release of the cold air intake for select N55 engines stage 2 DINANTRONICS is now possible on those select models. The combination of the tuner, exhaust, and intake provides less restrictive air flow and ultimately unlocks tremendous power that can only be described as "awe inspiring". Capping out at 382 HP and 455 lb-ft of torque on the M235i and certain MPPK (M Performance Power Kit) models the transformation stage 2 can have on your car is overwhelming. After all an increase of ~20 HP and 25 lb-ft of torque over stage 1 is hard to ignore.

Below are a few iterations of the performance graphs but just like their stage 1 counterparts on these models there are a great deal of variation so please consult the appropriate product page to get the exact numbers of the vehicle in question.

Remember that if you already have stage 1 installed you will only be required to pay the difference from stage 1 to stage 2 which is $250.

Intake finally arrived at my dealer, installing Monday morning. I have the MPPK, should I use the stock bottom intake piece or the one that came with PPK with the cutout? Performance and/or sound difference?

I don't remember where I saw it, but I believe that Dinan recommends using the stock lower half of the air box. This is to create as much of a vacuum as possible since the kit even comes with some rubber to try to seal the seams of the lower and upper half.
