Can you let me know how much a set of B6 damptronics would be for a 335xd running adaptive suspension (with ACS springs). Presume they’d work together.
Thanks in advance.

Presume the B6 damptronics will work ok with ACS springs as opposed to B8

I'll see what I can find out. B6 have uprated damping compared to stock, B8 have the same uprated damping and shorter damper rods for use with lowered suspension, but sometimes they recommend the B6s anyway. I don't think there is much difference between them.

OK so Bilstein do list B6 damptronics for the 330dx/335dx but they are currently out of stock until at least June. Due to the virus halting production there is now a massive production backlog to clear. Bilstein supply us, many other tuners and some OEMs too.
Fronts are £523.20 each and rears are £399.60 each, total £1845.60. However, I would strongly recommend that you ditch the adaptive and fit AC Schnitzer non-adaptive sports dampers instead (£1614.47 inc adaptive delete kit): https://shop.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/spor...rom-8106-p.asp Our experience with these has been 100% positive, unlike the B6s. We fitted a set of damptronics to an Alpina and they were harsh, even in comfort mode. We tried changing the springs which improved matters somewhat, but it never felt "right". As has been posted by Watsey and others we suspect that BMW's control software is just too slow to outperform a good quality non-adaptive damper with a matching spring. AC Schnitzer tested some adaptive dampers and reached the same conclusion. |

I've got ACS sports suspension (springs and dampers) on my 340i and it's very impressive.
Retains all the ride comfort as the OEM set up whilst adding in all the body control that's lacking with the standard dampers. Spring rate and dampers seem perfectly marched and judged together. Having also had ACS RS coilovers on my previous 335d these are definitely a half way house to a proper coilovers set, being a lot less firm, but more bump absorbent, so still very OEM feeling. Very much how I'd imagine a BMW road car should be when not being hobbled by inadequate quality dampers. They're honestly perfect for 90% of drivers. The other 10% would probably find coilovers preferable, rather than adaptive.
