I thought I saw a press pic with the M-Performance exhaust?

It's a shame the M-sport is limited to only 6 colors. And no pics of Mineral Blue Metallic?

I am very interested to see which Individual options are available. I could see myself springing for the Full Leather interior if it's not more than $1500.

I agree. The 4 looks much better as a GC than a coupe.

One of the reasons I purchased the F30 (as apposed to Audi) was because it was a new model line and the S4's were getting a little dated. I figured the resale value on my well optioned 335i would remain higher after a few years because it would still look current when I went to sell it, but this is when I thought the new 3 series meant 4 doors and the new 4 series meant two doors. It's a branding thing.

So, again, why not spend just a little bit more and get the 4 series? Objectively.. it looks lower, meaner, sleeker, and there will be the perception that it is just a little bit better than the 3. Especially with reviews like these:

http://www.autoblog.com/2014/02/01/2...ficial-photos/
only thing that immediately comes to mind is its a 4 seater when the 3series is technically a 5 passenger? dont think the 4 will have rear center seatbelts looking at the pics.

Right? Have the marketers gone mad? You have what clearly is a 4-door sedan with a slightly Audi/ last decade Mazda roofline and side window configuration, and it's a "coupe"??? And the 3 series GT is supposed to be seen as so different as to earn a "3" rather than a "4"? Is that because it is a hatchback?

How is this car "stunning" and the 3GT not? Other than BMW cognoscenti and badge snobs (assuming one would consider a "4" badge superior to a "3"), who will be able even to tell a 3GT and a 4 grand "coupe" apart? And if you want a car that looks like a warmed over Audi, why not just get the Audi? Or go for the blue light special: buy a decade-plus old Mazda 626. It would look basically the same, drive decently (and you could find one with a manual!), and would be 10 times more reliable than any BMW.

3GT / 4GC / '90s Mazda 626: separated at birth lol

Why are there so many haters? If you don't like it don't buy! They made it because it will sell. Same price as the coupe and looks better than the F30. I would spend $2k more for it as will many others.

This. Looks and drives better than the 3-Series, would happily pay the premium over the 3. The only thing I don't like is BMW is essentially "ruining" the 3-Series which is supposed to be their bread and butter. Will the 3-Series still sell? Absolutely but adding a 4-Series GC takes away from the 3-Series name. Unless the utility of the 4-Series is drastically different from the 3-Series (I don't think it is), I could see a lot of people opting for the 4 GC and while sales of both cars go to the same cause, it's ruining the 3-Series image for BMW.

No way. The coupe looks way better. This whole gransedan thing (I refuse to call it a coupe) is a marketing exercise to fool people who need practical 4 door cars into spending more money thinking they're actually getting a coupe instead. Stop drinking the koolaid you're still getting a sedan.

Making a sedan version of the 6 series has made it way more common that it would have been as a coupe and convertible. Here in Dubai the 6er used to be as rare as a Jaguar XK but now it's as common as a CLS. Go figure. Way to ruin your cars' exclusivity BMW.

subjective...4 door coupes has been out for a while, bmw didnt made the name up, 4 door coupe is a sedan with low roof lines

This GC looks way better than any GT and any sportback- would be a Great looking family car. But I still Prefer Coupe.

That sentence is why there are a lot of haters.

We do not hate the car, we hate the fact that BMW is putting out (what some/many will claim is) a "slightly better 3" than our one or two year old 3 series.

If I had known that they were going to make a slightly sportier 4 door sedan under the 'coupe' moniker, that was not far off in price (at least from a well appointed 3 series)... I would likely have made a different buying decision. Which is now making me regret (or at least resent) my purchase.

And the more I steam about this the more I regret my decision. I have spent several thousand just getting my F30 to drive and handle more like a "BMW" and less like a camry. I cannot wait to see what that the Audi S4 refresh looks like.

My God the comments. So predictable. I wish people would think a little bit before they type. You sound like whiney, spoiled children who have no idea what they're talking about. The 3, 4 and 4GC all look good in different ways and serve different purposes that will appeal to different people.

So what, you're upset the 3 and 4GC didn't come out at the same time? That is how the world works. You buy something very nice but something a little bit nicer might come out later. Get over it. Should Apple not come out with the iPhone 6 since they just came out with the iPhone 5s a year ago? The thing is, not everyone thinks like you and will find the 4GC that much nicer than the 3. Some won't even be able to tell a difference side by side. So if you're going to be upset with BMW for coming out with the 4GC at an inconvenient time for you then you might as well get upset with every corporation in the world.

That's the "problem". The 3 and 4-Series shouldn't be that different aside from looks. Unlike the E90 and E92 which were essentially the same car with a different body, the 4-Series has been claimed by many to be a better driver than the 3-Series. Again, assuming the interior space isn't that different from the 3-Series (considering the roofline), there really is a strong argument this time that the 4GC should've been what the 3-Series is.

A $60k car is not an apple product. Which btw, Apple actually goes to great effort to clearly define and differentiate their brand offerings to great success. They have product refresh cycles every few years and will actually take outgoing products off the shelves weeks or months prior to launch.

Why do you think all 911's look a like? Why do you think most premium car manufactures go 5 years or more before making major body changes? It's called brand management because NOBODY wants to spend $60k on a new model line, just to find out that everyone is going to prefer the slightly better model line next year. We expect major refreshes and new models yes. We expect people to think hard if they want/need a 335i over a 328i, and people who buy 4 door sedans are usually not cross shopping 2 door coupes, but the 3 and 4 series sedans are not the same. They are very similar, except one is slightly prettier, slightly sportier, slightly newer, and slightly more expensive. They will be cross shopped and I imagine it's not going to bode well for the well optioned ($$$) 3 series and the well optioned 3 series resale value (e.g., "geesh, you could get a 4 gc for that").
