Weird c-clip nut holder with torq screw behind headlights

Yesterday i was trying to remove the LED modules, for the halos, from the bottom of the headlight assembly to inspect them. (2014 328i F30 with bi-xenon adaptive lights). There is two per light
The inner module of the drivers side has a T25 (?) screw going into a clip fastener nut fixed on a bracket assembly right below it (the LED module) that seems to have no function except to make it impossible to remove that particular module.
Anyway trying to turn that T25 out and the nut inside the fastener just keeps turning and turning and there is no way to grab it to keep it from turning.

Just wondering what the trick is to that or am i doing something wrong.

thanks
