320d Standard Suspension 17" Rims Drop? H&R Springs?

Hi All,

I want to lower my car just a little bit. I think stock is too high. I have standard suspension and I have 17 inch rims. I checked H&R website. They only have springs for 328i listed. What do you recommend ? Would the springs for 328i fit the 320d ? I am thinking of the "sport" springs of H&R.

I don't see any reason why these springs won't fit on your car.

I lowered my car with the H&R Sports springs. Looks a lot better lowered. However, the 17in stock wheesl now seems so inadequate. I am installing 19s this weeks.

I too am gonna have 17" when I pick up my 320d Sport Line. Planning to add 15mm rear spacers, 12mm front and lower on H&R Sport.

I had m performance suspension installed on my base 328i with 17" wheels and 225/50/R17 tires. Initially I was wondering if the wheels/tires are too small to take advantage of the upgrade, but I was wrong- it does make a hell of a difference. Also looks much better.

You can find a few pics in the last couple of pages of the long thread about "m performance suspension labour hours".

I certainly recommend the upgrade. I'm guessing aftermarket upgrades will have a similar effect - not sure.

How's the ride quality of the base suspension on h&r sport springs?
Bouncy? I know that it will be harsher compared to stock since it's stiffer and lower and I can live with that. What I can't stand is the bouncyness after the spring install as if my shocks were finished and bounce all over the place everytine I hit a dip or a bump.
