Tire/Wheel Upsizing

Hey guys,

I have a 2014 Msport and am putting winter tires on my 400 rims. In the spring I will buy M5 Reps with new non-run flat tires Hankook Ventus. I am torn and could use some help. I will not be lowering the car.

I like the "meaty" look of wider rubber and was hoping to do a 235/265 setup but the tires i want don't come in that size. Only MSS come in that size and they are very expensive and am told with will rub on 9.5" rims, stock height with 265/35-19s in the rear. I am working with mod b%$&s and they recommend 265/30 in the rear but that's smaller by 3% than stock.

Here is the question than:

Meatier look with 265s and 3% smaller or Stock size rubber 225/255 on 8.5" rims upfront and 9.8" rims in the rear.

Really appreciate the opinions!

a 265/35/19 in the rear most likely will rub. Stick to the 235/35 and 265/30. It might be 3% small in diameter but it will be wider than the OEM sizes.

I think 225 and 255 looks stretched on 8.5" and 9.5" wide wheels, but that is up to personal taste.

I would have chosen 235/265!

Which wheel offsets front and rear?

I believe the offsets are 35 and 38. To your point i don't really want the stretched look.

Since you have stock M Sport suspension you shouldn't have any problems with 9.5x19" ET38 and 265/30-19.

Yes. Thanks ss. I was more concerned about it being 3% smaller than stock. 265/35 would be a better fit but I'm afraid they might rub.

My summer wheels are a 19/10 rear with a 265/35/19 and a slightly aggressive offset (40) and never ever rubs. Even with the tire being a chunky Michelin super sport. Not sure why everyone on this site says it won't work. I'm not dropped. My winter wheels are 19" m5 reps with 265/30/19 rear and no chance in hell it'll ever rub. Tires look smaller than they should be for an f30 IMO. Looks awesome though.
