Recommend me a shop in SoCal

Hey all,

I live borderline LA/OC. I'm looking for an indy BMW shop that would be capable of performing a trans service in my F30 with ZF8HP trans. I'm planning to do it myself, but if my arthritic shoulders don't permit, I'm going to need a Plan B.

EAS in Anaheim is solid. I've been taking my M cars there for years.

Earlier recommendations are spot on. Lang Racing in Lake Forest also does excellent work.

EAS was fantastic for my F30 ST suspension but I haven't had maintenance done there. Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa took great care of me and I plan to have out-of-warranty items completed there on my new M240i.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will likely be calling them to set an appointment when ready. In speaking with the gentleman on the phone, he was very familiar with the process involved in servicing these transmissions, and they seem to do it regularly.

FYI- I saved by buying the ZF service kit from FCP Euro with their lifetime replacement parts warranty. ZF manufacturers the transmission for BMW and their service kit costs much less. My Indy mechanic just charges me labor when I bring him parts.

I took the advice of a couple other members in this thread and went to SSR in OC. I've had the car back 5 days and everything works great. Other members have stated that they noticed smoother shifts after performing the trans service, and I've got to say my experience has been the same. In the mornings when the car/trans fluid is cold, especially on colder mornings, the shift from 1st to 2nd would sometimes be a little hard, which is actually fairly common for these cars. It hasn't done that since I got it back, though the mornings are warmer now, so I guess I will have to wait until Fall rolls around to know for sure.

Overall I'm happy with the work performed, and will likely take it there for the service again in another ~60k miles.

Thanks for the recommendation gents. Took the car there. Have had it back 5 days, and actually did some pretty "spirited" driving yesterday, putting the car through its paces; trans is functioning like a champ.
