I had picked up a DINANTRONICS D440-1655-STG1 for my 340i with mppsk. I had hooked it up and I had gotten no power light to the dinan ecu I had read on some forums about using electronic cleaner and to make sure that the connections to the dinan ecu are proper does anyone have any advice as if anyone has had similar issues. I had spoken to dinan and they had been of no use other than telling me that without all of the 4 connections to the engine it would not be told to power on.

I've had similar issues with the stage 1. The downside is that it doesn't have a dedicated negative power connector so it can be flaky with regard to energizeing. You gotta make sure the connectors to the DME and DME wiring harnesses are TOTALLY snapped in. They are finicky so if the locks engage before the pins fully mate with the receivers inside the connectors they aren't going to work. The Dinan instructions do mention this but it can't be overstated in my opinion.

Mine does have a dedicated ground cable. The connections are to 4 sensors did you use any spray as well?

I did, but the connections appeared clean. They're sealed pretty well when installed so unless the parts were sitting in a dusty garage for a while they probably aren't that dirty.

I don't know what the light is supposed to be doing. If you have the box hooked up and it isn't working you're going to get a drivetrain malfunction on the dash because all the DME signals are passing through it. You can communicate with the box via Bluetooth when it's installed. That's the best way to know if it's working right, however at least on Android devices you need a really old version of Android because dinan is too lazy to update their app.

Yea I had tried to reach out to dinan they told me to buy their new tune I am going to try and disconnect the ecu harness spray it w electric cleaner and do as you had said and see if it turns on

I have the error codes attached. I had disconnected everything cleaned them and then got same error I was getting before I did notice on the ecu box that the seal for the connector is loose and was popping out when I connected it could this be enough to not get the thing to turn on

I don't know, there's no easy way to bench test one of these things before sticking it in the vehicle to see if it has any issues powering up. Safe to say, though, that if your car wasn't throwing codes or malfunctions before this, and you've double checked your install is done properly but you are still getting codes, then there's probably something wrong with the kit. Did you buy new or second - hand?

Following this thread. I’m interested in a used dinantronics elite stage 1. Wouldn’t pay what this cost new but secondhand seems like a decent option. These models controlled more signals than the newer versions so rideability should be much better. Did bootmod3 before but want to give this a try. Hope you’re able to resolve this soon

Which car do you have? I had a stage 1 for sale in the classifieds for a long time, nobody bought. It's for the n55 with electronic waste gate

Just had gotten off the phone with dinan they had determined that either the harness or the ecu is faulty and they are going to flash my ecu for free
