Changing wheels from 8x18 34mm offset to 7.5x18 45mm offset

Hi, I have a question about replacing wheels on my BMW 2016 340i. I've always wanted black rims to go with the shadowline trim, and I found a great deal on EBay. However, my BMW has 8x18 34mm offset (36116796247) while the ones I found are 7.5x18 45 mm offset (36118074185). I know the offset will recess the rims about a half inch, which I'm not in love with, but is there anything else I should know? What other tradeoffs am I making in look or performance?

BTW: I'm told that my existing tires of 225 45 R18 will still fit okay. Thanks in advance!

225/45/18 on 18x7.5 @ ET45 will be super tucked, but it'll fit. 12.5mm or 15mm spacers can "fix" the tuck to "ET32.5 or ET30 however setups like this just doesn't sit right with me, personally.

the B58 is a powerful engine. idk why BMW continues to use 225 widths on these cars. well, i do know why, but still...

i suggest stepping up to a 255/40/18 square setup on 18x8.5 ET35 rims, there are many to choose from.

this is what i'd get. 18x8.5 ET35(18.8lbs) Aodhan AH-11 Matte Black on a summer or all-season 255/40/18 that fits your budget.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I'm leaning on going this route, or at least keeping my current setup and finding the same rims in black. This deal was too good not to explore it though ($500 for all four!). Really appreciate your take.

Just to close the loop, I've opted not to go with this setup. If you or anyone is interested, I'm selling the rims I just bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/126066457285. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this.

I’m not in favor of your plan, because I hate black wheels, but you could powder coat the wheels you have for about $600.

F3/4 member classifieds is here...

i suggest also posting in the 2-series classifieds, since it is a 2-series wheel, evidenced by the higher +45 offset.

since winter is around the corner, you may want to add that it'd work great for a winter wheel setup with 225 width. being tucked, it will keep most of the sling within the fenderwell and a lot less spray up the sides.
