VTT GC E50 Results 600WHP/600WTQ!

Ok, guys, I know it has been a while, but we finally got this finished, and the results are basically exactly what we rated this unit at. A drop-in no core charge, no lead time 600WHP upgrade!

Mods are as follows:
VTT GC
Dorch Stage 2 HPFP
VRSF Catless downpipe
Dinan intake
Custom MHD tune by Wedge tune by Steve B.
E50 fuel
M-performance exhaust

Results were 600WHP/600WTQ with near-stock spool seeing 500WTQ by 2800-2900RPM on a NON-LOADED dyno, expect 200-300 quicker on the street! Stock spool, 600WHP capability. The dyno lost signal for a second which is why the drop out is there, but you can see everything is smooth in the log.

We initially tuned the car on BM3 using Cary Joran for 93 octane results as Cary is our goto tuner, but 2020 saw him with a schedule he just could not keep up with, and the flu hit him, and his family hard, and left him behind the 8-ball. He ended up being on his paying clients, and since he had taken this job on a favor, the customer requested if we could move tuning elsewhere just so we could get it done.

The guys at Wedge (Ken, and Steve) stepped in quickly and knocked the tune out for us in about 20 revisions. There were some tricky things to figure out as this is a new Rom version but Steve was up to challenge and at the end of the day we ended up right where we wanted to be 600WHP/600WTQ. This also was not a one-trick pony with one run with elevated time or boost. Through-out the day today as Steve dialed it the car hovered around the 590WHP mark until it brought it home with a consistent 600WHP even when heat soaked.

Peak boost was around 28psi, running about 27 to redline 18 degrees of advance.

The log is here: https://datazap.me/u/vargasturbotech...17&zoom=60-125

All in all, we are extremely happy with the GC, and the B58 in general. I want to say we have put about 200+ dyno pulls on this turbo, and we still have more street testing before we hand it back off to the customer. Look for 60-130's early next week.

We expect these to ship end of March/early April. Now is the time to pick one up so when they come into stock we can ship right away! You can pre-order here: https://vargasturbo.com/product/vtt-...arger-upgrade/

Big thanks again to
CaryTheLabelGuy for the 93 tune, and really trying to get this done, but just being in such high demand he didn't have time. We appreciate all the hard work!
Dorch Engineering for the HPFP
WedgePerformance for stepping in, and really getting this done quickly for us.
MHD Tuning for a great tuning platform!

It's nice to have great people to work with in the community!

Definitely some nice results, but what's up with the dip? Is it the same limiter others seem to be running into?

As Chris mentioned above, the dyno dropped signal for a second. If you review the datalog it's clean.

It should have looked something like this (Virtual Dyno, using the datalog with adjusted gear and weight to match the Dyno loading) Chris let me know if you want this removed, just thought it may help for illustrative purposes.

Nope, appreciate it, dyno blips happen, the log is the authority. Your pic helps explain that to people, as long as they understand it is just a tool to show power continuity. Good looking out!

Great results

Only one thing i can't understand is why on 3294 rmp throttle position is 55% and in 4522 rmp throttle position is 60%?

What results can expect in 93oct/98ron fuel?

One thing I noticed in this log for the first time in a MHD log is the Load Actual Ram parameter just after cyl6 timing cor.

If you select that and Load Target, where Load Actual RAM exceeds Load Target it coincides with throttle position and WGDC reduction to bring Load Actual RAM back in line with Target.

Load Actual Ram parameter logging looks like a nice addition for higher Load target tunes.

I bet with new power, it would require to upgrade rear axles and carbon-fiber driveshaft, or risk to rip those. Driveshaftshop comes to mind as they can build custom parts.

I don't think anyone is working on the driveshaft for this car yet unless like you said otherwise.

Hence my suggestion. We don't know the limit of stock parts with new found power.

People have been running 500-600whp and only failures I've heard of so far was on a car with hundreds of launch control uses or a heavier x3. As far as effects on longevity we will see but if you aren't constantly launching your car I don't think we have too much to worry about just yet.

I wish we have more data about the egine reliability with 600hp. Don't want to go with a forged engine, the cost won't be far enough from a F90 M5 to justify that choice...Speaking in my case about a 540i G30.

The two grenaded engines were putting more than 600 HP to the wheels. SC_B5X stated that he estimated his power at mid to high 600's.
I think if you asked both of these guys they'd say they were pushing their cars hard on a weekly basis, street races, etc.

It's all about your personal risk level and how you plan to use the car. For me I'm comfortable around the 600 whp limit knowing that I'm an old fogie and aside from a few AutoX weekends a year and some red light shenanigans I will just be daily driving the car. I drive aggressively, but not all the way to the limit.

this 2 engines was broken not because hit the limits of the engine! But because it was broken something in cyl5 (injector, ignition coil or spark plug) and the DME didn't put the car in safe mode!( this question need to ask to the tuner). Instead of 29psi it was 41.5 psi. DME trying to compensate cyl5

Here are both. 100-200 video from this morning, and also the E50 vs 93 Dyno.

Turbo can be pre-ordered here. about 3 weeks until shipping: https://vargasturbo.com/product/vtt-...arger-upgrade/
