Love the Alcantera, where did you get the parts if you don’t mind me asking?
Brian Keller at Sun BMW gave me a great discounted deal on mine... worth a call.

Brian is no longer with Sun, enjoying retirement since the start of the year. Unsure what they will now do on pricing, I haven't had occasion to deal with them yet.

Thanks, guys. I’d been wanting the full M Performance CF trim for my GC for a while. Got the full set from BMWPartsPros at a great price. It went in easy enough (I think I spent more time on newtis researching the removal/install of each part than it took to actually swap them!).

Ouch I'm sorry to hear that! If using a screwdriver and not a plastic trim tool, I learned to wrap the end in masking tape (learned from scratching paint once).

Have fun coding, remember it can be reversed almost 100% of the time. Maybe start with some harmless codes and let us know if you need help.

Fixed my adaptive headlight/vertical aim malfunction.

Idk wtf the previous owner did with the left headlight or if it was the dealer but five wires were chaffed and corroded. Cut out the affected sections, spliced in new wires and all is well. Will eventually replace that section of wiring to the plug.

I really like that look. Can you explain how you did that? The color? And I'm in the same boat with the front plate.
What I did was pop the hood, remove the rubber gasket along the front bumper, take out the screws holding the front bumper (under the gasket), then reach down in between the front bumper and carefully pop the tabs off for the grille. Once you take one grill out you can reach through the hole to take the other one out. Clean the V bars and then wrap them and put everything back together again. I went with blue satin chrome vinyl wrap.

Did it last summer, carbon fiber matte vinyl from Amazon. Much easier to do when it's warm outside, tried in winter also but messed it up. Pretty subtle, only noticeable in good lighting conditions.

That looks good and I have plenty of matte CF vinyl left over and might do this too. Did you remove the v brace to wrap it?

Nope, just the kidney grille. You don't have to wrap it all the way to the top and bottom, the bar is flatter on top and bottom and a bit tricky to wrap, just determine what area will be visible through the grille. I started at front and wrapped it towards the back, even if you leave a gap at the back it's fine as that part is not visible.

Installed smoked sequential turn signals, they look fantastic. Plenty bright and match the black of the lower casing and CF caps. Before and after, below.

Just curious, why was the idrive covered and not the fuel rail?

anyone notice considerable wear and tear on the center arm rest? kind of annoying since the leader is slowly fading.

Just the usual warranty restriction bullshit. I can't remember what he said exactly, but something about the fuel rail wasn't covered, but the injectors would have been, or something similar. He claimed he tried to claim it a bunch of different ways but the system wouldn't let him.
