Shops in Vancouver

Just curious if anyone can recommend a good shop that could handle lowering an F30. I have a 335 xdrive which I plan to drop and and a set of 20's in the garage I am eagerly waiting to try out.

Many thanks!

I'm fairly new to this but I would check out CG Motorsports in Richmond. Being a BMW owner from Richmond, I've heard lots of good things about them.

There's Performanceone who advertise here. Not sure about their service or price though. Let us know where you go

Thanks guys I truely appreciate the reply. Now that most of the potholes around the city are close to being fixed I am looking forward to the new stance.

Cheers!

Richmond or Vancouver? The manholes and covers are bad too.. Some of them are like artificial potholes.

You could try Nixon in Burnaby. I have had good experience with them.

I've used CG Motorsports a few times. Good advice and fair pricing.

Thanks - I am booked in at CG on Wednesday. They are so close to me so seems like the best option. Going for an oil change and hopefully a quote for spring install

Hi all, I know this is an old post but I'm looking for a reputable shop in Vancouver for lowering spring and exhaust install. Can someone please suggest a dependable shop with a good rate?

I talked to performance one and they quoted 900 bucks for the installation of Dinan spring and quality handling kit. Is this reasonable?

Here is a point of reference. I got the Dinan spring and ride handling kit last year from Performance one and the install cost was a bit more than 800 bucks. However, alignment costed an additional 130 bucks.

I would definitely call CG Motorsports. Their pricing for my service is really good compared to Nixon about 50% cheaper and they built their shop for adding performance to BMWs. So yeah definitely give them a call.

Thanks daxtor! Good to know. Looks like prices went up as installation cost is over 900 and alignment is 150 now. Good to know it's still in the ball park.

Quick question: How do you like the kit?

My situation is a bit different as I also installed the Dinan shockware as well, so my feedback may not be applicable to your situation. Also mine is a RWD car so if your car is AWD then there may be a difference.

Anyway, I love the car's handling after the install. It definitely is more firm than before but the floaty feeling is pretty much gone. For some pretty poor road the ride can be a bit busy/bumpy but that's a trade off I am willing to make. Sport mode is more firm for sure and you can feel the road surface more (e.g. going over the Oak Bridge you can feel the joint of the bridge sections). You do need to be careful with large portholes as the impact can be quite harsh (not that it is a good idea to go thru one in the first place but sometimes it is unavoidable).

Thanks! daxtor! That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm planning on doing the shockwave tune as well. I assume it will improve ride quality, as well as protecting the stock shocks. I drive down Oak bridge daily and know exactly what you meant haha.

tbh, I'm not entirely happy with stock handling. It's floaty and I feel my steering is all over the place. I will definitely do this soon.

Well that's the main reason why I changed the spring and installed shockware. My previous E46 wasn't this floaty in stock form (well I ended up lowered that on too in the end). I considered coilovers but just can't justify the cost, even though I think they probably will work better on the track for me.
